    Default Nishijin vs. sankyo, sanyo

had a question, from your experience, is there any one model of vintage pachinko machine "worth" more than the other brands ? say to compare a model A nishijin vs. "model A type" sankyo ... just wondering,

    i would say not really...

    this is my check list

    condition first,
wether it requires power or not for play, (and i mean 24 volts for solonoids)
    asking price..

i will say, that some brands do seem to be built better then others.. and other brands have better cell designs..

it really bolils down to wow factor for me

For me (and speaking only of Vintage/Antiques) the only reason a brand would bring more value is that if was really an unusual brand. These machines, while some want to say they are rare, really aren't. Even some of the most sought after machines such as the Power Flash, Roulette, etc. keep popping us as they are found in garages, attics and yard sells.

Specifically on 'models' there is a bit more value to the A models and single shots, etc simply because of their age but between 'brands' there really isn't one more valuable than another. Agreeing with Mopar, it really has to do with the impression the machine gives to the individual collector/buyer. The rule to these machines, like any antique or collectiable, they are worth at much as someone else is willing to pay for them. So, the bigger the 'wow' factor or the more unique the actual game play is, the more likely you'll be find a buyer willing to pay a premium.

Hope this helps and welcome to PachiTalk!
