    Default Memorial Stone

A woman's husband dies. He had $30,000 to his name.
After everything is done at the funeral home and
cemetery, she tells her closest friend that there is none
    of the $30,000 left.

The friend says, "How can that be?

The widow says, "Well, the funeral cost me $6,500.
And of course I made a donation to the church. That was $500,
and I spent $500 for the wake, food and drinks, you know.
The rest went for the memorial stone."

The friend says, "$22,500 for the memorial stone? My land,
    how big is it?"

    The widow says, "Three carats."

Sounds exactly like what my wife is planning on doing.
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.

The husband of a woman who worked for my company died.

She had 2 small children, but, took the insurance money and bought a Corvette.

She said she always wanted one. She couldn't afford the unkeep and insurance and wound up selling it for a big loss.

    No common sense!!!!!!

Last year, I went on a cruise and one of our stops was St. Thomas. Of course I spent some time in a jewelry store (I think this is mandatory in St. Thomas). I had on my finger, a $55,000 or $65,000 diamond ring. Believe it or not, they told me they sell about 6 of those a year. I felt like a queen for one brief moment and walked out with a $20 gold-tone flip flop necklace.

I can so relate to this joke. I am a such a "Jewelry Junkie". Since I have no kids, all of the toys are mine. For many years I have been known as the "Gold Man". I would have loved to use this as my username/email, but alas...Goldman is a very common Doctor/Lawyer last name. So Napster it is. BTW, not at all bragging...But my biggest diamond clocks in at 5.21 carats. It definitely starts up a conversation.

Its funny that you say that due to the fact that the kids that work in the local market here call me Bling-Bling! When they hire new workers that is how I am introduced to them. It usually starts by someone saying "Try and guess his name".
Also, Since you don't live to far from me you are probably aware that Brigantine (Named after the British sailing ship) is a small barrier island (sandbar) off the coast of Jersey. What you probably don't know is the rich history of visitors that once visited here. One of those visitors was Captain Kidd from Scotland. (Another pirate also hid out here. Captain Teech aka Blackbeard) As the story goes...Captain KIdd's treasure lies buried somwhere on this island.
Now when people here bring up the subject of my excessive "Bling", I usually reply by saying "Guess who found Captain Kidd's treasure"

Yea I agree "Weird", but not that uncommon. As I stated before its a common name for Doctors/lawyers, and they definitely make a bit more than minimum wage. Its as if their name has already determined their social status in life.
