what the heck is this thing

I was cleaning my machine and noticed these wierd plastic things plugged in hole on the back.I am very curious as to what they do exactly.

They're seals, for when the system is worked on. (not the kind that balances the ball on it's nose, funny guys!)

its like the seal on your electric meter to prevent tampering with the machine
