    Default Ahhhh, FedEx...

    So howdy all!
Im presently sitting in my truck in Bloomington IL.
Up until a moment ago I was sound asleep. Then I get a phone call from a neighbor 1 street over ( same house # ) telling me theres a package on their doorstep for me. A big package. Too big to haul in. ( Theyre kinda elderly. )
    Yep, its my new Pachinko.
Now my wife isnt much bigger than the box & has a hard time just dragging it in the house when its on my own porch, much less a porch thats a block away.
So I call FedEx & where we agree its FedEx's responsibility, the bottom line is its going to sit on the neighbors porch for tonight & most likely most of tomorrow.
That is unless the scurge of the neighborhood, the white trash druggies that live across from my neighbors dont get all itchy looking at it sitting there & decide theyve just gotta ahve it.
My real question here is, who, if anyone, has left one of these out all night & did it cause any damage to the machine itself due to the elements? The natural elements. Not the neighbors!

    Just hope it doesn't rain.

If your lucky they may have put plastic over the machine.

I would think they should have sent the driver back to deliver it to the correct address.

The neighbors are going to put something over it so it dosent look so inviting.

It seems the local FedEx office is closed for the night.

You don't know anyone else in that neighborhood you'd trust to haul it at least into the house it was delivered to? Although, we're a pretty 'stick to yourself' neighborhood here. I only know 2 people I could call if that happened. I'm sure one of my ex-wife's boyfriends would do it for, well, me - thru her.

My truck is finally fixed, I should be in Chicago on Monday (dosen't deliver till then). Only $6,200 for the new engine computer! How long till I can afford to buy anything pachi? I shall live vicariously thru everyone here!

Fedex and UPS will put the machine inside my door if I'm home.

They deliver to a lot of older people here, so they give us a little extra help.

If I'm not home they leave it in my carport by the side door.

It's easy enough to slid it up my 3 steps.

Glad to hear that your truck is fixed. At least you have a "s-load of pachinkos" to hold you over until the money starts rolling in again.

Well, Im sure someone had been home then they could have let FedEx put it inside the door. But then again, if someone had been home they could have told them this is Washington St not Lincoln Ave, you moron!

Found out that the Pachinko is still sitting on the porch on the next block.
Seems that FedEx is aware of it but my area is at the end of the days route.
So when they can get to it...
Ill have the wife get my neighbor to help her get it if FX dosent swhow up by the time my neighbor gets home.

    FedEx Ground I assume?

If so they suck!! My pachi rode around nine extra days before the driver finally decided just to drive out past the sticks and beyond BFE to deliver it. The supervisor was unaware that it was still on the truck. I don't want them touching anything of value again! FedEx Air a whole different story and I think a different company!!! Overnight rules...but too expensive for pachi....

FedEx Ground used to be RPS. I remember that around here at least RPS only had a few trucks so when they had a busy day they would make deliveries in Ryder or U-haul trucks.

When I was waiting for my first pachinko I was checking the FedEx web site all the time watching it get closer and closer and then the day came. So I'm waiting for the truck to come and it finally pulls up in front of my store and I can't wait, I watch the driver check his clip board then talk on his CB then he disappears in the back of the truck for a few minuets and then before I notice I see the truck driving away, to late to run after it. Later when I check the web site it says they came and we weren't there.
Could have fooled me. I guess it was just hard to tell we were there with only having the lights on open signs glowing cars in the parking lot and two people staring at him.
My theory is he just didn't want to lift the heavy box. At least they actually delivered it the next day.

With a pachi it's just annoying but they do this kind of stuff with orders for my store all the time and that just sucks.

I'm sure there are some good FedEx Delivery people out there, just not here.
It also doesn't help that it seems to be a different guy every time, we've had the same UPS guy for over 11 years.

I just drove in from Chicago & found my Pachinko still sitting on a neighbors porch one block from my house.
So I put it in my truck & brought it home.
I immediately got on the horn to FedEx & told them they did a great job but dont expect to be paid for it.
Then I got on the horn to SlotUSA & explained the situation. They will make a claim & supposedly Ill get my delivery fee back in 3 weeks or so.
Then I checked out the machine itself & it seems no worse for wear & actually is a much neater machine than I realized.
So in the end, the frustration & worry gained me a very cool machine for cost & free shipping.
    I think Im good!

Good for you Doodude. A lot of people (myself included) would have just taken it home and grumbled about it. At least with your persistence, you won't have to pay for a job poorly done. What machine is it anyway?

    Its the Battle Fever:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1

Ive only played it for a few minutes but the LCD is very nice & the white gloved hand in the green moon (?) on the right flexes. Makes a fist, a peace sign etc.
It has tons of lights too. Very cool...
