    Default Pachiholics Anonymous

Ok, I admit it. (ThatÂ’s the first step.) IÂ’m a Pachiholic. I canÂ’t control these urges to have more and more machines and need help from fellow Pachiholics. We have to stick together to solve this problem.

I started with only 1 machine and, of course, told my wife and family there was no problem. But, little by little the problem has grown and manifested itself in less and less time with family and the only time we now really enjoy being together is when IÂ’ve encouraged THEM to be involved with MY habit. They might become Pachiholics, too, and it will be my fault! What are we going to do??? Now have 4 machines, all the popular ones of course, and am bidding and buying more! Is this habit genetic or environmental?

Our family life is being consumed by Pachis! (And, even worse, money is flowing out of our savings like crazyÂ… my wife said she is now going to buy herself a $1500 designer purse since I can buy all these games.)

ItÂ’s a desperate spiral and there just seems to be no way out!

We need to unite to fight this! Many of us here are are in the same boat I am!!! :smt043

    Slotter,

You've admitted that you have a problem. That is the biggest step to recovery. The rest is easy. Just remember... the hardest part of the recovery process is behind you now.

Rest assured, this moderator has been properly trained in responding to these crys for help. But you must trust me. Together, we can do it!

The time for action is now, before you begin the flat-spin of the spiral. There is still time to act. You'll know that you MUST act if you've thought about anything crazy like buy special stands, barstools, or decorations to justify making these a part of your gameroom. That will only serve to lure the rest of the family into this addiction, and you don't want that. If that happens, they will be out-bidding you on eBay.

If you are even considering these things (Heaven help you if you have already done ANY of them), please heed these words... remember, we have been properly trained:

PM me for the address where you need to send these temptations immediately. We have been certified by experts to properly dispose of them for you. You don't want them falling into the wrong hands. For Heaven's sake, don't just throw them out the car window like many addicts do... some innocent child may find them! Or even worse, some wild animal may become addicted. Have you ever seen a woodchuck or a squirrel with a pachislo habit? NOT a pretty sight!

Clear your conscience, my friend... start packing them up tonight. Don't stop until you have them ALL done. Don't forget the tokens, either. The barstools will only serve as a reminder, so better send them too.
    Don't forget the neons, either.

I'll be standing by for your PM.

PS - Did you know that billiard tables are ALSO the work of the devil? I can help! Trust me. :smt056

Once you get above about 24 pachislos there's a simple way around this problem. When you get a new machine you just rearrange the room. You change the position of all your machines and change the way they are grouped. For example if you had four along one wall, make it six. If you had 3 in the corner of the room, put 2 there is time. If you do this right she'll never notice a new pachislo in the mix.

I've rearranged my game room about 5 times now. It's worked every time. When she asks, "Is that a new machine," just say "no." You won't even be lying. None of these are new, they've all be used in pachislo parlors.

:smt017 gotta keep her wondering why it looks different, huh? Guess that works better with 15 machines instead of 2 or 3....

Most imprtant of all is to keep tha receipt for the purse, cuz when you go behind her back and return it (you will, trust me) then you can get yourself 7-8 more machines.

You're looking at this in the wrong light. Your not addicted to pachi's. Click your heels together three and and repeat this. YOU ARE NOT ADDICTED TO PAHCI'S. This is merely an exerciese in home decoration. If you decided to purchase bookcases instead of pachislo's how many would you need to cover the wall space in your den/gameroom? At least 12 I would imagine. At $200 each, that's $2400, not to mention all the books you would need to fill them. At an average of 5 shelves per bookcase and hard back books roughly 20 per shelf your looking at 1200 books. Hardback average costs from Amazon.com say $20 each. That another $24,000! So your iinvestment is now at $26,400.

See, Pachi's are by far the most cost effective way to decorate IMHO.
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.

Hmmm...or build your own shelves out of bamboo and twine made from coconut hair, re-write your favorite literature on banana leaves, an have that "gilligan's isle meets tarzan" showpiece you always wanted for only a 3 hour tourrrrrr, a 3 hour tourrrrrrrr.......oops, sorry, guess the flu's affecting my brain. CHECK PLEASE!

I speak from the mountain Top.

With the Flu shot shortage, some of the Vaccine was acquired from Japan. I believe this is really a invasion of Japanese thinking. Our country balance of debt is going toward the japanese.

They have put in a DNA marker in the vaccine to get us to buy Pachinkos and pachislo. Look at the way the prices have jumped, they are holding back and letting in smaller and smaller groups of machines. I remember when i called a “all Nighter” was (well you know), now it a night I sleep the whole night without getting up and checking the machines and having to run a few hundred tokens thu them.

I donÂ’t wax my truck any more (if I ever get it back) instead, I wax my machines and dust them. Yes I will dust, but only these little jewels, I maintain a even warmth in the room, so they are never cold or over heated.

I carry tokens (both sizes 25 PAI and 30 PAI) and balls, just in case I see a machine that needs to be feed.

The only way we can beat this is to join hands and sing “We shall over come”. But it will never happen, because someone would reach eye into my pocket (while i am holding hands) and take my tokens and balls.

slotter, i was just like you about a year ago. COuldnt have enough machines. I think I was up to 10 or 11 in my gameroon at one point. Then im not sure what happened, maybe it was that I go to cinci to buy themn and bring back ones home all the time, but I just got very tired of them. Dont get me wrong, I still play mine all the time, but the excitingness will wear off in time. I didnt think it would, but it does. ALot of people will actaully get so tired of them they will actaullly sell all their machines and give up the hobby. I couldnt ever go that far, but I know a bunch that have!

Davis, as you know, that was a "tongue in cheek" posting. I'm probably only going to get one or at most two more machines for the gameroom! When my daughter has sleepovers she and her friends really enjoy these machines as when guests come by for a few cool ones.

(And, Mr. RKnarr01, you ain't getting my machines, cuz I ain't givin' the hobby up!)

Oh I know, just thought id let you know how I was in the beginning too! We still love to play them, were actually playing spin luck for about an hour last night! Ive shyed away from just getting every "cool" looking machine and wanting everyone I saw now. Thats when you really start to enjoy the hobby, when you find the great machines that you truly love and woudl not trade in for the world. Ive got to that point finally, I actually am still looking for a few machines to round out the collection! Kids sure do love these machines though dont they!

The great thing about being a "Pachiholic" is that from this site you get to learn from others what machines are the most fun before you end up purchasing too many machines that you might want to resell to get machines more to your liking! I've got some great machines already and will get a couple more. Don't have any desire to sell anything yet.
