    Default are they skill?

HI.... I had a question.... are Pachislos really a Skill stop machine?? They say that although you stop the reels, the outcome is already set by the machine... and if thats the case.. why are they called skill stop? what is the loop hole they use in Japan to make these machines legal in a country were gambling is illegal... is there any proof that skill is involved?

    Thanks
    Michael

They aren't called skill stop. They are called pachislos.

Skill stop is an Americanized slang term used by people trying to sell something.

the way they get around the gambling issue is to give prizes not worth much to anyone and then having a store off premises that will buy your ugly figurine and pay you cold hard cash for it then it goes back to the parlor and it all starts again ....as for skill yes and no the machine does allow you to do the stopping when its in its favor to do so to meet its quota when its not good luck hitting what your aiming at it'll slip right on by .......during bonus rounds how ever yes you do have allot more control to stop or eye shoot the targets you want...hope that helps ......

Some bonus rounds on some machines can be played blind folded with the same outcome. Not all, but some, some machines will also foretell the outcome by certain LCD images, JSR has a yellow guy skate by when it will hit bells, after 1 or two stop buttons are pressed and before the 3rd is pressed, Neo PlanetT will show a symbol on the Elvison screen foretelling a win as well. Spin luck requires the user to stop on Red 7 or black 7 on a certain reel to get paid. search the posts this was discussed before as well.

Michael here is an excellent video that I posted on youtube.com a while back that has gotten a lot of play there (over 3000 playbacks ) :

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZ15EO_q0lU

At the end it will explain to you how the japanese get around the no gambling laws. This shows facts about pachinkos primarily but the "cash in and cash out "basically works the same way for Pachislos also.

Hope this makes it more clear to you

well I have found that when i play with my pachislo i am able to stop the reels pretty much where i want them.. so i would say there is some skill to it.. not all the time mind you but most of the time anyway.

    Just to clarify,
He needs some proof. Some thing written or video taped stating these require skill and are not gambling devices. From a reputable source, like a manufactures statement or something similar.

I thought we went thru this once before? Did we ever get that final proof from a manufacturer? This would be an interesting thing to have just in case the authorities come a knockin....

In the challenge rounds you have to eyeshot the first reel to win.

On some games like Outlaw you have to press the right buttons to win.

well they did come a knockin... and penal code 330b sec 7 says if a game has skill, then its excempted.. aka pinball.... they.. the gaming police like to say that the outcome is already set before the reels start spinning... which is sometimes true... but there is NO machine that would allow you to hit a jackpot on every turn...that would be stupid.... all game machines regulate the amount of wins ... even a pinball machine will drain after so long.. same with the skill stop games at chucky cheese... but I think there is some skill involved either in regular play or bonus rounds on pachislos.. I just need the technical proof

Did you try calling a vendor. They may have specific legal information for their businesses.

As far as I can recall we never did come up with valid proof to this even tho we all know it is true. We can all say that we can stop the reels anyway we want etc etc but as far as true tech proof it is going to take more than that.

I am not sure that having the authorities come here and seeing our statements of our being able to stop the reels in any position we want to is going to help.

I agree you need to contact the vendors and see if they can help.

GAKU may have an answer for you on this as he has or had something on his webpage at one time about eyeshooting skills.

yes I'm in California.. but there is nothing that says a Pachislo is illegal... it says if a machine of hazard can be readely made to take coins is illegal... minus games of skill... if California wants it 100% illegal, the they should include Pachislo or pachislo type machine are illegal in the code itself.. not this gray area bs which allows them to mess with anyone they want... the funny thing is.. the word readely.. what does that mean.. LOL my rifle can readely be made into a automatic weapon.. which is illegal.. so is my riffle illegal because it can be changed??? LOL will see what happens next month.. I'm sure regardless of what I say, I'm already guilty?? which that is not how the law should work... they Ca cant aford to lose a case like this.. it would prove that they were wrong.. and that will neve happen... this is very sad.. I need to find a case number somewhere were the defendent won.. there most be one out there somewhere.
