Total noob question. What's the difference between the Macross Fever machines versus say a Macross Frontier one (besides the obvious difference in the anime series that it represents). It seems like the Macross Fever machines are highly popular on this forum.

I think its down to the wild animatronics on the fever model and the interactive use of the V trigger that makes it tops for some, And that frontier playing field is a lot less manly

It seems Sankyo put a huge effort behind the Fever Macross. In particular recreating anime scenes in CG. They've even included that footage in the 30th anniversary blu-ray release. As DC mentioned, Fever makes great use of the V-Trigger frame and the mech transforming is always a surprise. The Macross Frontier, for me, it's about the Yoko Kanno music. The gate on top does make game play interesting. Since they both use the same frame, why choose?
