    Default Hanabi Hyakkei questions

I just received my hanabi Hyakkei from DGI, and have a couple of questions.

1 - Where are the volume switches?

2 - There is no reset switch on the power supply. How do I set the payout level?

    Thanks!

    Dave

OK - Found the reset key - it was in the main cabinet, to the right of the reels.

I had a hard time finding the volume too. As I recall it's on the bottom edge of a circuit board on the front door. I'll double check when I get home tonight.

On the door, there are two slider switches to the left of the reset button, that I thought would be volume switches. But they only have two positions and don't seem to have any effect on the volume.

I suspect those are the "payout and force reset after Big Bonus" switches, since there aren't any on the power supply....

You're right on those - as I recall the volume switch is is actually facing down. You might even have to reach through a plastic cover to get get to it. And, yes, it does have 3 positions. I'll be home in a couple of hours and I'll check.

There's a circuit board near the bottom of the front door. Looking at the open door, it is a little to the right, and just above the coin return. This board is enclosed in a clear plastic housing.

Along the bottom edge of this board you will find an opening in the plastic that provides access to the volume switch. The switch itself is a little hard to see, because you are looking at the side of the switch, not the top as you might expect. That is, the plastic moving part of the switch is actually pointing down, towards the bottom of the door and you stick your finger in from below this board to reach the switch.

    Thanks for the info Gwarzin!

    Another question....

When in the menu system, I know that the right yellow button selects, and the left yellow button moves the selection. But how do you "back out" to the menu index?

My Don Chan has a joypad to do all of that...

As I recall, you use the left button to move to the item that says back or exit then press the right button. But since I don't know what exit of back looks like in Japanese I frequently just drop some coins in which causes the machine to exit the menu and go to game play.

To return to the attract mode from the main menu of the on-screen guide, use the left button to select the one with the green arrow marked 戻る (modoru which means return) then press the right button. Once something is chosen from the menu, for some things you can just hit the right button to go back to the main menu but for others you will need to use the left button to make a choice or select the return option then press the right button. Or as gwarzin already pointed out you can always just place a bet and start playing.

Yes, assuming that the shipping charges are "normal" (around $60), $112 is a great deal.

I just received a Hanabi Hyakkei and I really like it, but since I have learned very little Japanese at this point, I could really use some help setting the payout odds as well.

I am guessing that they are set via the LCD, but I have yet to figure it out.

A little help? Also, has anyone thought about working on a complete translation of the play directions?

    Thanks in advance. ~spooner

    turn machine off
insert reset key and turn right
    turn machine on
press reset button until you have selected the payout level you want then depress joy stick for 5 sec and release
turn key to left and remove

Thanks for the info. I feel really stupid now. I was obviously making this way harder than it needed to be. I assumed it was on the LCD menus, not with the key and reset button the same as every other machine!

Thanks again for the info! ~spooner
