    Default KAN LESS...Electric model A !

I posted some pics last night of this. But, I don't think the eBay general listings get much traffic. So I'll start a new thread here. I now have in my possession a most unusual machine! From the front it looks like an ordinary pachinko machine with a cowboy and 2 Indians.model A electric 006.jpg But from behind, it is a model A with solenoids to activate the payout tray and reset the jackpot seesaw!model A electric 022.jpg Oops! that is the pic with the cover on. model A electric 018.jpgmodel A electric 016.jpg Keep in mind...I don't need another machine. (the 1st step is admitting you have a problem!) But I had to bid on this one. Thank goodness no one else wanted it, I was the only bidder and won it for $89. I certainly didn't want to pay more! I am absolutely fascinated by this thing. Hopefully someone can dig up some info on this because I'm not vary good at that.(nor do I have the time) It is a Nishijin Kan Less. KAN LESS 019.jpgKAN LESS 018.jpgKAN LESS 007.jpg The glass got broken in transit.model A electric 004.jpg That is the easiest part to fix. My biggest concern is a damaged circuit board.

...damaged circuit board.KAN LESS 005.jpgKAN LESS 013.jpgAs you can see, someone repaired it. Successfully? haven't plugged it in yet. It has an electric motor to lift the missed balls into the lower ball tray.model A electric 020.jpg This pic has the cover removed. It has a 24v transformer that goes to the fuse box.KAN LESS 010.jpg If it works, or if I can fix it I'll get a dual voltage transformer like the powerflash uses. The jackpot tray has been repaired, need to clean that up a bit. KAN LESS 011.jpg There is a break here that can be fixed easily.model A electric 024.jpg The center feature is a cowboy, bent over at the waist, looking between his legs, with 2 sixshooters aimed at you.model A electric 008.jpg If you hit top center, the ball can roll left, or right opening the tulip on that side.model A electric 013.jpg here are openings at the 1 & 11 o'clock positions that open the very bottom tulip. I dont see how the top center tulip can be hit, The 2 guard nails make the ball have to cross the center ornament which is raised and would deflect it. Guess I'll have to fix it and play it to find out! I don't have time to fix or restore it right now, so I will have to put it in the back room and get to it later. but I will probably dust it off and test it. Wish me luck!

Nice find! The background and basic front design is identical to the 1976 Shiroi-Kamome, with the exception of the Kan Less badging. The expiration tag indicates 1977, although my guess would be a late release and that it is still a 1976 machine. This is the first 1976 Kan Less I have gotten good pics of, I would be interested to see if this was a standard configuration on such machines, or an oddball experimentation such as the powerflash or the circuit racer.

Congrats, it will be cool to see it rescued and working again!

Is it cyclic? I have a "computerized" model A, and it is cyclic, seems like it is easier to convert a model A to cyclic because of the exit heights of the various trays... Just guessing.

Not really. I gave it the "SMOKE TEST" when I got off work just a few minutes ago... I plugged it in, and it passed...NO SMOKE! Filled with just enough balls to each tray and dropped a ball into a jackpot. An electric bell rings, one solenoid pulls down the jackpot tray, the other solenoid resets JP seesaw! Functions flawlessly! There is a small red momentary pushbutton switch below the lower tray on front; when pushed, the bell rings and solenoid pays out. I am thrilled that I don't have to troubleshoot the electronics! I am also very happy to have such an unusual machine in my collection.(notice the conspicuous absence of the word rare ) Rival, Thank you for the info. I suspected that it was mid '70s because of the extensive use of plastic, and the electronics. If you need any pics for your website just PM me and let me know! I'm going to try to learn how to make a video so I can share how it works with all of you!

The smoke test Much like the navy "float test" toss it in the water, if it don't float it must have been defective. (I have seen video of jet parts and desks and other large trash being "float tested" off the deck of CVN-72

Maybe all the old men who understood how things moved and interacted with each other got old and died. And the only source of techs were young college boys who only knew electronic circuits... then the change to modern pachinko came rapidly???

Hate to burst your bubble but I think they made more than 2 of them. Realistically probably more like 200 (but more than half of them are probably gone now).

I'm sure there were much more than two! I'm sure that less than 1/2 are in the US . I would like to see pics of all that our members have, just to see the variations!

It looks like it is either a counter. Or it was meant to trigger the bell. I guess you'll have to take the cover off to find out (we will want pictures)

Man that version of an A has all the componets cramed together at the bottom. There is almost no room for some of the parts (like mopar's white box. "it is the better version of the black box ")
