    Default Need Wall Mount Suggestion

Ok guys first off sorry if this is in the wrong sub-forum. Im sure this has been disscussed before but I couldnt find much on searching. Was interested to hear suggesttions on wall mounting Pachislo machines. If mine ever gets here thats going to be the optimal way it will work in my game room. Also while Im at it is there any temperature restrictions for these? My game room is actually my garage re-done. I've been in technology for years (pc technology that is) and I know it wouldnt be smart to put a pc out there for any length of time...but didnt know how robust these units are and what there environment temp suggestions are? Any help would be appreciated, thanks all.

eeek you are trying to wall mount quite a heavy unit your best bet would be a strong shelf
The cold/damp isnt to clever for them rule of thumb if you wouldent put a pc in there dont put a pachi in there
My rice krispies told me to do it

I agree with the shelf idea, The back of the machines could pull loose with the weight of the pachislo, 1000's of tokens and your buddy's body weight when he slips and grabs for something to catch himself (worst case scenario )

If you have to leave them in a garage in a cold damp environment, you could probably keep them turned on 24/7 to keep them warm and hopefully dry. Another option might be to mount a 15-25 watt incandesent light bulb inside and leave it turned on to keep things warm and dry during cold/damp weather

Depends how tall you want them to be. The least expensive stands I use are black, $19 tv/vcr cart from Wal-Mart, but they aren't very tall. I use the short folding stools from Wal-Mart to sit at about the right height for the short stands.

Keep in mind that these modern machines are not much different than a PC. The only major difference is the lack of hard drive. But even worse, there is a mechanical aspect to them - steppers, reel bearings, hopper that may not like the range in temp/humidity it may get in a garage that doesn't have controlled environment.

What's wrong with putting it in the middle of the livingroom floor?? They deserve a place of honor such as that!

Re-locat the sofa and chairs to the garage... You'll have plenty of room then.
I don't like the idea of having them outside... even in a warm climate.

Pachis make nice nightstands on either side of the bed too. You can just roll over and toss in a few tokens.

Any machine with a LCD should not be turned on till it has reached room temperature! If there would be any moisture in the components of the LCD that is not aloud to evaporate slowly you could ruin it. A seller lost some machines turning them on in a cold climate. The same thing applies to just having the machine in the cold, with or with out LCDs and bringing them into the warmth. Condensation and electricity don't mix well. I don't know how cold it will get in your garage. If it never freezes, then turning up the heat a little before you turn them on may not be to bad. Still not the best situation. When My pachi room is done it will be a room off my garage. In winter it will always be a comfortable temp. and in summer it will be air conditioned. Until then my machines sit out in the freezing barn. I don't turn them on, don't want to risk damaging them.

I wouldn't recommend wall mounting any machine, or leaving it in the garage.

First of all, you can mount anything to a wall if you have experience doing so. Although without the experience, I wouldn't recommend it unless you are a do it yourself type person. Most fasteners, if secured to actual solid materials will hold alot of weight. There are also brackets too. You said you finished your garage? Does it have heat? How humid and cold does it get in there? My basement is DRY, but about 56 degrees for most of winter. I haven't had any problems from any electronics down there. This temperature isn't unreasonable though, because as a kid my house was this or lower in winter and our electronics did fine. Dampness is bad though. There are some rooms/places you go into and can just feel that it wouldn't be good for electronics. How does your garage feel?

I'm defintily the do-it-yourself type. I knew it wouldnt necessarly be easy but just wondered if anyone had attempted it and what made there success. As far as the garage, its insulated but not heated, although the furnance is in the garage. So..I would say it never drops below 20 out there worst case senerio. Most of the times mid 40's. Not damp at all. Another point is these would be stored on the wall shared by the house too...opposite of the garage door. I run lan parties in there a lot and obviously as long as hummidity is under controll and its not TOO cold, pc's thrieve in the cooler temp, performing at there peak. But again being new to the slot scene just needed some feedback from the pro's.

if you can run lan parties in there it should be ok to put your pachi in there to i wouldnt go doing it at 20 deg though but the 40's probably wouldnt hurt it . if it fluctuates alot or has a lot of humidity your going to have problems with connections getting corroded and need cleaning .... i like the 25 watt light bulb idea in the box it would regulate the temp and humidity in the box also give some light when resetting the machine. (nice idea !!!! someone thinking outside the box ...) as for mounting to the wall as long as you support the bottom of the machine i dont see why not !!!!! its been done before with vegas machines over urinals at some rest areas (talk about washing your hands after use.....)

    Hi,
I have eight of my machines attached to my basement wall.
2 standard, shelf brackets, the "L" shaped steel ones. There are a couple of different styles.

Mine are attached into the concreet wall with 3- 3/16" TapCon's. The pachi bottoms are screwed down to the brackets at the back (4 holes)

Very stable and lots of leg room.

Please note: Dry wall is not strong enough to hold the load, even with anchors!
Every bracket must be screwed into the stud framing to insure integrity.

    Best of luck.

    Rich.
