Does the $60 base figure, not including refurbishing costs, factor in shipping costs from Japan for the machine?

I may have mis-understood, but I interpreted Tulsa's request that we no longer talk about the reselling of machines to mean that discussions such as this would be discontinued, since all of the supply chain costs are not especially relavent to the hobbyist, only to people planning on reselling.

I would llike to be wrong on this one, but that's how I interpreted the request

The way Marniebattle phrased it, it sounded like he was thinking $60 to get them "raw", but transported to his location. Based on previous discussions along these lines, this seems about right or a little high for a full container load with a mix of models, depending on how far you are from the port of entry.

My Suggestion to Marniebattle: Stay in school, learn how to spell and forget about trying to make money selling pachi machines. A sustainable market is just not there. As a hobby it can be fun. As a business, unless you go at it with a hefty budget and a strong business plan, there are easier ways to make money.

I know this is just a school project, but what if.... marniebattle were to set up shop within 150 miles of me, I would be picking up a couple of machines a month. After I explained to some friends what a Pachislo is, I know of at least 10 people that would make that drive also....and they tell 10 people....and they tell 10 people.... So how 'bout it, Marniebattle Pachislo Emporium of the Northwest Inc.?

$20 for labor is a bit much for one machine. We recently started in this business and let me tell you, it is HARD work. I usually work around 10 hours a days 6 days a week, and have 2 full time employees and 1 part time. I will start selling a lot more on eBay in the next 2 weeks. Somethings to think about before you get started, mainly a storage unit isnt going to come even close to being big enough for 400 machines. We have 1500 sq. ft. with 160 machines and there isnt a lot of free room at all. We are picking up a 26' truck of about 150 machines weekly so I or my employees spend 2 days a week driving a truck. ( I am getting pretty good at it )

Hate to tell you but you wont come close to making 40k a year only selling 5 machines a week, you would actually need to sell about 25-30 a week to do that with VERY little overhead.

Dont get down though, a lot of people are saying some machines sell for under 80, but not that much, and some machines sell for well over $80. If you get a good mix of machines you will end up with a decent profit.

Hey if you are in Florida and have someone who wants to drive you up to my warehouse I will be more than happy to get you started so you dont have to buy 400 machines. I am in Bradenton/Sarasota.

Generic knock-offs. I'm surprised they didn't just print out yellow belly and header glass with black text and leave it at that.

A generic football theme, no team, no specific colors, just two football helmets. Who are they marketing this to? Do they have a clue?

Oh wait, I know, the electric football nuts out there, that's their target market!
