pc knowledge needed

im using aol and there for aols browser but whils operating through aols browser i keep getting ads pop up from internet explora they open ie and pop up over aol slugging out my pc causing me to miss type ect i have turned on pop up controles in ie even though i dont use it i haveturned on pop up controls in aol and have even disabled ie as far as i can without distoying my operating system i have run 3 seperate add/spy ware programs and they give me a clean bill of helth and so do my 2 virus scanners i have even turned off ie in my fire wall and am still getting these anoying ads
has anyone got any ideas as to stop it befor i end up like my avatar
do the people not realsie that it dose nothing for advatising at all but cause me to boycot that company for using popup advatising that is now anoying the hell out of me and has been for the last 3 months

download spybot search and destroy, it will get away with all of the adware and spyware on your comp...if u dont have it already.... below is the link

you should also use spybot to immunize your system. I also suggest scanning with adaware as it catches some of the bad stuff that spybot misses.

I've had good luck keeping the gremlins out of computers with Microsoft's Spyware Beta (free-at least for now.)

well thanx peeps loaded adaware and ran it wow spybot found nothing aol spydetector found nothing adaware found 91 nastys wooharr se if that cures it thanx again

Do you get the popup on all websites or just certan sites?

If it is all websites they you do have malware or a virus on your computer and I would recommend running Microsoft's free Spyware (beta) also.

For a free anti-virus I would recommend Avast - just remember to register.
It scans everything in memory and everything you open (real time protetion) this means you don't have to scan your whole computer it scans what you use.

However, I do HIGHLY recommend that once you do get the problem solved that you get Sandboxie also for free.

It sandboxes whatever program you run through the sandbox in your case AOL.

This means as you are surfing the web that AOL usually writes to the temp folder and stores all changes (history, toolbars, homepage, settings, etc.,) however it will now be sandboxed and write all changes to the sandbox.

So if you start the program out of the sandbox everything is back to normal. It is like if you never surfed the web - everything will be as it was.

Another thing is Sandboxie also sandboxes all processes (programs) started by the sandboxed AOL.

I too do not like AOL but just ditching AOL should not fix the problem if it is caused by malware or a virus installed on your system.

well i cant just dump aol as there unfortunatly my servis provider and i prefer there browser to ie7 so looks like im stuck loosing my mind with this one perticula pice of add ware

Did both malware/spware scan and the virus scan come out ok.

spy bot came out clean so did aols joke of a scanner but credit where it is due adaware did come up with 90 entrys and aparently deleted / quarenteened all so i gona give microsofts beta a try befor rebooting (with a size 12 )
