Exclamation Any UK Pachinko Stand/Cabinet Sellers

I got my first pachinko yesturday, it was a thunderbirds 2 which I like very much. I now want to a cabinet to put it in so it can stand up and not have to be proped against the wall and so all the electronics are enclosed.

Does anyone know of any sellers in the UK that could provied one of these?

    Thanks, Adam

thats quite bad and suprising have a look through the usa sellers sights and you can see how they put feet on theres to save you some money for now as if you put it in a cabinet you have refilling problems with having to open it halfway through a fever round give me a shout if you want plans to make a cabinet instead of buying one or nic from www.pachinkos.co.uk has cabs

What is the easiest way to make a pachinko stand up as mine did'nt even come with a couple of bits of wood for the base from Nic! It really was'nt worth the few pounds saving so neither will my custom be again!

    Cheers

you have 2 options you can put feet on it wich is basicaly 2 pices of 3"x1" wood about 2 feet long or for about £25/£30 pounds follow the link i provided above to stueys cabinet making page it is real easy to do i cant work with wood but i built one the same in my kitchen as I live in a flat in about 2 hours so that should give you a clue i did it with a handsaw drill and screwdriver so if i can anyone can trust me if you want to go a little more elaberate there are plenty designes in here just do a serch on cabinet designe

Brilliant thanks for that, so for the 2 bits of wood way do you nail them to the machine or is there a way of clamping them to it?

    Cheers

the 2 bits of wood idea is bes done by drilling a hole through the wood then slightly countersink the hole so the screws dont stick out and scrach whatever you put the machine on

then screw the wood 3 screws per leg to the bottom of the wooden frame this is how the machines are held in the stands in the parlours ie screwed thrugh the frame but be careful not to screw right threw the frame into the machine if you have any electronics at the bottom of the machine

i have tipped the machine on its side so you can see the bottom

Nothing like making something yourself, you will definately get a very good sense of accomplishment making your own cabinet.. even if it means just having the pieces of wood cut by a wood shop and assembling yourself...

Id say give it a try.

I think i'll be making a trip to B&Q tomorrow! Does any one know if they cut wood for you? Would MDF be any good?

    Cheers

eeek no not MDF easy to work with but not hard enough / strong enough you gonna have to use planks of solid wood like pine or somthing but B&Q will cut for you or i used my local Travis Perkins as they were cheaper and closer than than B&Q

You cantdisregard MDF, it really depends on how the deisgn is and what measures you are going to take for support etc.

if your going to use 19mm MDf (3/4 inch) with proper support proper construction it will hold and hold nicely just dont expect mdf with a couple of wood screws and a dab of glue to do a good job..

Support support support in all the areas that will bear a load or will be strained..

Too right, I used ruddy great "Through Bolts" to secure my cab to the wall....there is NO way that sucker is coming down.... I also secured any joints with little screw brackets....

Definitely have a go at building your own its not as hard as you think once you adapt a few of the designs used here....

my first one was extremely basic ( although here I hadn't fitted the ball return tray underneath yet ) but it aint rocket science ! Bit of careful thought and preparation and you'll get it working a treat !
