    Default Cabinet mounting

I was thinking of mounting my Spiderman Neo 2 in a Pachinko cabinet. As I was looking at it I began wondering what to do with the transformer.

The only option I have come up with thus far was to use a connector to make it detachable from the machine and mount it in the cabinet itself.

How does everyone else handle this problem?

Dalto, thats the 1st thing I do. Move the transformer out of the machine and mount it on the cabinet. I just don't like something that gets hot in so close to wires and stuff in the machine.

And then do you hard wire the machine to it or do you use a connector?

1st install the machine in the cabinet, then install the transformer from the back. My Sankyo has the wires run nicely around the machine so the machine can swing open with no problem. My Newgin I have to pull the power connector (its like a plug) from the back of the machine.

I just use one of those brown or white mini extension cords. Like 3' or 6' and run it out the hole on the side for the cabinet release access.

But as others have said you can mount the transformer outside.

Won't mounting it outside expose the wire-nuts?

Just run the cord out the back and down to the outlet by pinching behind the cabinet. In most cases, it will be fine, but if you should feel it too pinched, just file a small opening for it go through. Keep your transformer inside the cabinet.

I used a wood bit and drilled a hole in the bottom of the cabinet to feed the cord through. I then got a piece of cardboard and cut a slit in it for the cord and fastened it over the hole inside the cabinet so that the balls wouldn't fall through it.

Let me give some advice. DON'T DO IT!

Sure it may be fun at first, leading to giddy feelings of elation. But then inevitably reality will set in and your feet will come back onto the ground. You'll realize that you are from different worlds and that it would never work out.

You will then feel despondant, depressed, out of touch. Psychiatric help and electric shock treatment may then become necessary.

It may take a while before your feelings settle down and become normal once more.

The moral of this story is ... Don't try this at home. There are experts that do this for a living!

Anyways, that's the story I give the wife whenever she wants something done arround the house. I hope this helps.
