Default Buzzing / Interference On Mach A Go Go

Hi folks , I have just received my first Pachislo machine and I am encountering a problem with buzzing and interference coming throught the speakers continously through the week I have had it - by contrast my Pachinko machine is as quiet as a mouse. To an extent it reminds me of a car radio that needs a suppressor fitting to it though at times the noise can appear similar to running water . I have checked the wiring and buttons to make sure everything is plugged in correctly and nothing is sticking and have found no problems here . I have also checked if it was a neighbouring appliance but again this does not appear to be the case . The noise does not get any better even after the machine has been running for any length of time . What is the problem and how do I go about solving it ?

I don't see anything common about it None of my machines have done it even without volume controls

My speed racer does this is well. In fact all my Sammy made machines do. I installed volume controls which lessened the problem.

JC, you have to have owned a Sammy with a video in it to experience the Sammy Squeal.

Volume controls are the answer to this situation.

The problem is likely a poorly designed/filtered power supply. If it has a detachable power supply, try replacing it with a better one (available via internet). If your unit is using the built-in power supply, use a good surge/noise suppressor to plug the machine into. The other thing to try, remove and bypass the volume controls.

One of the above solutions will rid your pachislo of the noise you hear. There are some other possible fixes available (using filter/chokes etc.) however, it is more work.

I have the same interference noise from my Speed Racer when I got it. Stealth told me this was typical of Speed Racer. From another thread I read about installing L-Pad volume controls so I installed the 50 watt stereo L-pad from partsexpress.com. The control works great to control the volume but unfortunately the noise is still there and only now bearable because I can turn it down. Does anyone know about a noise filter or the like to reduce the noise?

I have buzzing on my Thunderbirds and when I turned up the volume on my Speed Racer (a Gaku unit w/volume control) I can hear the buzzing though lower than Thunderbirds....

I have ordered Volume Controls from Gaku and will let you know if this solves the buzzing on Thunderbirds.
According to the other threads on this issue installing v.c. will reduce the buzz.

My Super Black Jack does that as well and it has built in volume controls. The buzz does go away or get quieter at times.
    and a few others.

When we first got our Speed Racer the noise was very annoying. I tried stuffing cotton balls between the speakers & the grills, and that helped. Then I put duct tape over the grills and that helped more. Finally, I installed Syscom volume controls, removed the cotton balls and duct tape, and that turned out to be the best solution of all.

I have this machine and ecperience the same gurgling sound as mentioned previously. I wuld like to try the L-pad fix, but where can I get these from in England? Have tried Maplin (don't do them) and RS (way too expensive).

Try potentiometers for this problem, these should be available anywhere. You want 1/2 WATT 500 Ohm linear pots. Use dual-gang for stereo speakers and single gang for mono.

Try removing the flourescent light tubes or pull the starter for the lights. this noise could be rf feedback picked up by the amp.

Otherwise install the vol pot remedy.

Just my thought on the problem!

The flourescent light fixture could also be causing the problem. Try removing the bulb and/or the starter and see if it stops. If it does replace them both with new ones. Otherwise insert a cotton ball in each ear.
