    Default Power Rangers playing Pachinko!

This is a bit bizzarre. I was Googling for an AquaNine machine and stumbled on this link from a Power Rangers fan website (you know, that rediculous Japanese action show reminicient of the old Ultraman show?):

    Power Rangers Pachinko Episode

In the episode reviewed, one of the Power Rangers became addicted to playing Pachinko, and the Rangers ended up doing battle with the "Pachinko Monster". I'd love to see what machine they are playing (and what machine turns into the "monster"... probably not a Pink Panther or Aqua Nine!)

It's official... everything is now on the internet.

    Everybody have a Merry Christmas!

Interesting that a machine built for adult parlors was themed for a target audience of 7-12 year olds.

Go Rangers was a show that started in the early 80s in Japan so there are full-grown fans of the show. The machine that sort of troubled me was:

Now Rupan, you know darn well there's a more than minimal carryover of interest in Sanrio stuff among more than a few young (and not quite so young) adult women in Japan...but I admit it was a bit odd when I first saw this...

There is a lot of carryover but, dang, look at the cel - it looks more for children than Candy Land.

One curious thing when I was in Kyoto was that I didn't even see kids playing the arcade-converted pachinkos...but maybe it was just the times I was there. Do you know of any age restriction on the pachis converted to arcade operation?

There isn't any since they remit tokens (the kind you can use to play token machines) or tickets (to exchange for toy prizes). They're not too popular because kids would rather beat up or shoot things.
