Default My first pachinko machine arrived today!

A big ol' Star Wars one. It's actually a lot bigger than I thought it would be. The packing seemed to have been through the wars but the machine itself looks to be in good condition.

Slightly worrying is that there was a piece of broken plastic in the box and I have no idea where it came from. Also I don't seem to have been given a key with it.

I can't turn it on right now as it has been given a JP home use transformer and I'm in Ireland. Nik from http://www.pachinkos.co.uk/ is sending me out a transformer (seems like a great guy to deal with!). So I can't yet test the machine to see if it works okay.

Is there anything I should be looking out for without turning it on? Anything I should check before getting back to the seller?

    TIA.

Edit: Actually, if I take a picture of the broken plastic would it be okay if I asked someone here to take a look at it and see if it's important? Here it is here, any ideas?

I'm not sure what that piece is,I will look over my machine and see if I can find it. Be sure the machine has been in your house at room temp before turning it on. I recommend a full 12 hours at least. This machine acts cranky cold. A very nice choice for a first machine. My opinion its the best machine to date.

Cool, sounds good! All has not gone according to plan unfortunately. It seems the seller didn't include the key. What's worse is that the CR bypass thingy isn't there either so he's going to have to send that out now.

As the packaging wasn't great, there are actually a couple of cracks in the plastic around the back and I have since found another mystery broken piece.

Now I'm not sure how much it is supposed to run without the CR bypass but I did get it turned on with a really low power transformer so I know already that the video and lights work. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to get any ball mechanism going so I have no idea if that works and won't until I get a good transformer.

It's all turning out to be messier than I was hoping it would be.

I bought my first delivery of 200 machines and not a dongle in sight! I had a local engineer soldering day and night, then my supplier sent me a box full to apologise.
They said US firms never ask for dongles so assumed I didn't need them, hmmm? Bit of a learning curve there!

That broken piece is a spacer coming off the top of the ball intake. It most likely was broken when the machine was built(over tightened) and fell off during shipment, it won't affect game play so I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Thanks hugely for checking that out for me. That at least puts my mind at rest about that one part. I'll let you know how it all works out.
