September 2005 to October 2005 I bought 4 Pachislo Machines what fun.
I know at some time I'm going to have to Clean them inside and out.
Do any body have any tips for cleaning the inside, what to use or not to use.
Also, what I should take apart to clean.

To get a better understanding of the machine, "strip" the case. Take everything out (remember how to put it back) and just go to town. Don't use water though!!!!! By taking the entire machine apart and putting it back together will gain you knowlege on how everything goes incase you need to replace something and what not. I use alot of rubbing alcohol and windex. and just plain clean towels/rags One of the main things is to keep your coin track and hopper clean, and lets not forget to keep the tokens clean also. Keeping those three items clean will reduce alot of coin errors. On how to clean tokens, different people have different ways of cleaning them. If you get your machine from a really good vendor, you won't have to worry much about cleaning all the insides unless you have nothing better to do. Just normal cleaning the glass and chrome.

    sparky,
I use water also its just that I told my dingle Berry cousin-inlaw?? (cousin's husband) that I use water and 2 hours later he called me very upset saying he cleaned with water yadda yadda and now the machine doesn't work. comming to find out he took the plastic casing off of the sound board area and used one of those industrial spray bottles you can get from sam's club full of water and as he put it "I sprayed it pretty good to get it clean" Thats why I didn't mention using water, Didn't want a chance on going through that "well you said clean it with some water" situation again.

as scooby said its common sense with the use of water i use it for plastic pieces like the tokens chutes etc but no electronic parts.

Just out of curiousity, RKnarr, if you have brass/goldish colored tokens, what do you use and what process is done to get those babies looking like new? I have roughly 2500 of them with the same design that look like old pennies and I soaked them in clr and water mix about 50/50 and nadda. I was at a lil 2nd cousin's birthday party at chukie cheese and those tokens were new. If I can get new ones or used tarnished ones clean and shinny like that, I might be willing to change over instead of selling them and getting all different kind of designed silver ones.

If the chrome coating is worn off or beginning to wear off and they look copper colored (like pennies) they are not going to ever look much better no matter what you do to them.

The few tokens I have that look like that I took out of service as the chrome was slightly flakey and I didn't want that clogging anything up.

Rinse in warm water thoroughly though. They get very sticky if you don't.

I, too, use CLR on used tokens in a solution of about 1/3 CLR to 2/3rds hot water. Leave them in the bucket in this solution for about 12 minutes and stir them regularly.

Remove and rinse and rinse and rinse again. You don't want any of the CLR acid left on the tokens.

Finally, put them in a big, absorbent towel and make it into a bag holding the tokens and shake the heck out them to dry. They will be clean and beautiful.

I bought 2- 5 gallon buckets at home depot. in one of the buckets i use my drill and drilled a lot of holes into the bottom of it. The other bucket i put the CLR into. The bucket with the holes i put most all of my tokens into then drop that into the bucket with the CLR let it set 15-20 mins and then pull them out rinse under hot water and then spread them out over towels on the floor to dry.
