    Default IC identification help

    Hey everyone.

I have a Neo Planett, and after spending some time poking about in it's innards, came across a couple of chips I cant ID. 29F1615PC-10, (which is the only one that concerns me now). There's two of these on the board that -appears- to be the sound, and graphics board, and they're probably memory devices of some sort, and uv eraseable.

I thought it might be fun to see whats in them, and perhaps redo some of the graphics, so I'm looking for any info anyone might have, and a link to a datasheet somewhere, if available.

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the replies!

I found the data, they are 16 megabit flash EEPROM's. It looked like they had uv windows, covered with labels, but apparently that is'nt the case, and what looked like a covered window, is probably just a dimple on the chip's surface.

They're rated to survive 100 programming cycles, so obviously they were'nt put in there with the idea of being written to very often. Based on their size, I'll assume they hold both code, and graphic/sound data. A further plus, my reader/writer should work with them too. A nice weekend project, for sure.

    An interesting project for sure!

Congratulations on finding out more already than what we have seen here from other members that have tried to "crack the code"
Good Luck in getting into them and finding out what makes them tick!

Be sure to let us know your progress !

    Thanks.
