    Default Nintendo Japan Help?

My son wants a specific Nintendo DS for Christmas. Sellers in the US want quite a premium for it. It is a "Pokemon" edition only available in Japan.

It can only be ordered direct from http://www.pokemoncenter-online.com/

The site is only in Japanse. I made my way through and once I got to the order info page I was lost.

It is 15,000 yen or $128 ordering through the site. I found a seller in Japan off ebay who will sell for $159 plus $19 shipping.

Should I try and find someone to help me order off the site or just eat the $30 and buy from ebay?

My question is which way do you feel the most confident that you'll receive it in time for Christmas?

I would probably eat the 30 and get it in the states. Also if you buy it in japan will it work with games here? I think PS2's that are from japan wont work with US games and vice versa but im not sure.

Handhelds play games from all countries. I have a DS that I bought here in the states and got a Rio de Carnival from Japan. My reccomendation would be to buy a regular DS and get a pokemon skin for it. After sometime he may not be into pokemon and then not want to use the DS if he doesn't think its cool anymore. With skins you can change the look to many things.

I got a nintendogs skin for my daughters DS. She likes the way it makes it looks and that she can take it off when she wants a different look.

I'd just splurge and get it here. Nintendo Japan takes 4-6 weeks to ship items and that will probably be futher extended if that cuts into New Year's, the only real dead time for companies in Japan.

Plus, in all likelihood, you will need an address in Japan to ship to. I know that my Club Nintendo items are sent through a middleman who only charges me the extra postage to send the stuff to me.

A blue DS with a Pokemon skin sounds like a good option.
