    Default eBay Seller fees question

    Hi guys,
It's been maybe four or five years since I've sold something on eBay and am aware there are fees now (I remember them being either nonexistent to minimal before) for doing so. I was wondering if you guys could give me examples of the types of fees and whatnot you guys are paying for listing nowadays and any other advice.
I know I can probably get the same information on eBay but I like to hear "live" information and I know some of you do a lot of eBaying.
    Thanks in advance.
PS. And I'll post up a picture of the probably-soon-to-be #1 pachinko machine in Japan, Go-Go Marine :

the have a listing fee that is based on how much you start your item fee then they also have a final selling price fee that is based on what your item sells. for they also have other fees along the way.

Thanks. Would you mind sharing the rough fees that were incurred in one of your recent transactions? If it's private, you don't have to post anything.

No thanks to lew for posting that bad joke. Lew, you have to avoid posting those just for the halibut.

I just listed my medal dispenser on ebay with a starting price of 300. the fees were right around 4 dollars. when i sold my star wars pachinko on ebay for 1000 i think i was charged 30 or so for the final value fee.

Great, thanks. Now I know why everyone charges so much for shipping. I was selling on the Japanese auction sites for so long so when I came back to eBay I thought all the couriers had some major rate hikes or something.

listing an item for 99 cents with no reserve cost 25 cents, gallery picture cost 35 cents, one picture with auction is free, all other are 15 cents each.
they have a picture pack, 6 pictures and gallery for 1.00.
final value fees are a little over 5 percent for up to 25.00 anf then percentage drops.
paypal charges a transaction fee and percentage of amount.
right now i owe ebay about 75.00. they bill once a month.

A rule of thumb $30 per $1,000 and that also paypal too. So if you sold a item for $1,000 and they pay with paypal, it will be in the $60 range for all fees.

It looks like all of the fees come in for a total of about 6 % on a $ 1,000.00 sale. Is that correct ?

and paypal fees are only charged if you have a Premere account and you need a Premere account if you accept payment via credit card. The only thing I dont like about paypal is if someone pays you via cash funds then they still charge you the same fee. The love it when people pay with cash funds...they make more dough. This is why some people have you check out else where with a credit card so they can keep their paypal account as a basic no-fee service.

    Chris is right...
If someone pays you with a credit card, you must have a Premier account to collect it, and you must convert a personal account to Premier if you want to see that money.
ONCE YOU CONVERT... FROM THAT POINT ON... ALL transactions, credit AND cash, paid to you... PayPal will get a cut.
At least that was the way it was when I was forced to convert to Premier a while back. That $50 sale has cost me a lot more than the profit I made on it since then.

There are, of course, SOME advantages to having a premier or business account with them... but most basic sellers don't use the extra tools once they are available to them.

That being said, there's very few auctions that I will bid on if the seller DOESN'T accept PayPal. Many others think that way too, from what I understand. So they gotcha by the short hairs either way.

I don't mind paying paypal fees, much faster and easier then dealing with checks or money orders.

I usually only bid on items that accept paypal,
