I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a BigBear play guide on this machine. I don't know where he gets them, but somehow he takes all those webiste images and gets them in English so we have some clue what it's all about. Maybe he actually translates them, I don't know.

Anyway, it's nice to have all those. Something as simple as the example above tells me something I didn't know. Now I'm dying to know what some of the other info says and even what that little playguide (posted in the Yamasa playguides link a week or so ago) says. I'm hoping for something that will make the machine a little more fun / exciting to play. The bonus rounds are phenomenal, but the play in those LONG cold stretches could use something a little more interesting to look for.

I would translate all of that stuff myself if I could find a way to work in into my other translation work.

I've never talked to him nor seen any of his posts but, if his real name is Gaku, I assume that he is Japanese? :questionm

That's weird. All the data on that page has nothing to do with the 27. It's all about the newest Hanabi.

I've spent all day so far trying to translate the playbook. It's a very slow go. *sigh* I'm just trying to figure out what some of the action is all about, but the online translators suck so bad it's hard to tell. Plus I have to find all of the kanji and other symbols to put in in the first place. Ugh. Hopefully I'll find something fun in these 18 pages, though....

I just wasn't going to bother you. It takes a long time, but about 80% of the time I can figure it out. If you want to add the playguide to your queue that's cool. I'm sure you'll do a much better job than me!

Once I get translations of all the text I'm going to update the images and re-post the English version here for everyone.

OK, why don't you do that and I can edit it for accuracy of you like. That only takes a few minutes.

Arg. What a pain in the... butt.
You know, a lot of the characters in that playbook (which is a bunch of jpg images) are so small that one can't see the definition. And for someone who doesn't write Japanese it's VERY difficult to find a character in the dictionary when you can't see what the character is.

So at this point, I'll give up. *sigh* If rupan wants to translate that would be cool. Otherwise I'll just sit there hitting the buttons on the machine and wait for something interesting to happen.

And you know, when the translators pluck out a word and give an English equivalent that means nothing (i.e., Deme), then you put that word back in and try to translate back the other way and it says it's not an English word it can really p*ss you off. Ya know?

Can you tell I'm REALLY tired?

That's why translators and linguists are paid so well. Of course, the good ones are anyway...
