    Default Newgin pachinko info

I have a few questions about my Newgin (Godzilla) pachinko machine.
1st off, is there a volume control on this that I just can't find ??
There is a LED in the lower right side on the rear of the machine. Sometimes there is a number displayed sometimes just a dash (-). What is it for?

I figured out how to reset the machine by turning it on while holding the toggle switch up. The machine has a speaker who rambles off a bunch of stuff about godzilla monsters, but the LCD display doesn't change vs the last round you played. It stays the same. Is it really a reset, or what does it do?

I found the ball release the hard way. dumped em all over the floor.

    Anything else I should know??

Here are some pictures of the back of the machine.

    Thanks!

If you can, trace your speaker wires to the amp, if you have a switch it should be there.

Most of us have found the ball release lever the same way.

I can't help you with the volume switch as I dont' have this manufacturer of machine. The easiest way is to trace the speaker wires back to their control board. That switch is more than likely on that board.

I would also suggest to you that it more than likely won't really help that much if you do find it. Resign yourself to the fact that you'll have to add volume controls to this machine to make it a sound level you can tolerate.

I can't help you with the volume control either but I could have sworn that LED displayed how many balls the machine is paying out in a single instance. Try to put a ball into the start pocket and see if the LED doesn't display a 4 and count back down as the balls come out. I know the front of the machine, lower right of playfield, has an LED that does that.

As for the volume control, I'm sure Arby will be walking in soon.

Try looking under the yellow cover with the erroe code on and also the lower right corner of the lowest right hand board (right side as you are looking at it).
Look for a 3 pos. slide switch or a round pot volume control.

    Thanks Arby!

Just behind that yellow sticker is a volume knob. Excellent.
Now I removed my 50ohm 10watt resistors and I turned the volume all the way down. I'd still like it to go a little lower and I'll never use it at the highest volume so I was thinking of putting 25ohm 10 watt resistors on the speaker wires.

Thanks again. This pachitalk is an excellent forum.

Congratulations on finding the volume. So now inquiring minds want to know did you find out what that LED does?

    Makes sense...

    7 Balls cut off
    That's an error I hope I don't see.

No, I never did. Once I set the volume I put it back against the wall and forgot all about the LED.

I am really enjoying this pachinko. It plays really well and everything works nice and smooth. I'm guessing its normal to hear the balls clanking against the glass when they are jumping around in there?

I think, like Arby said, the LED is the error indicator. Try to break the machine and see if anything happens with it. ow

As far as balls hitting the glass, it shouldn't be happening too often; I suppose it does on occasion though...

The balls in my Godzilla clank against the glass quite a bit.

I might be mistaken though as I'm used to playing in the noisy parlors and not caring what happens to the machine as long as it pays out. Maybe the other guys can give you a more accurate answer on this one.

Check the bubble of your machine, maybe. It might be leaning a tige forward.

Thanks Arby. So, that leads to another question..... Where do you think the bubble is on this Newgin Godzilla pachinko?

    Thanks!

I would pick up some wood wedges at lows and a butt level. off the front of the machine cell (open front window) put the level against it and use the wood wedges to square it perpendicular.
Than play it and see how it goes. I have set the perpendicular a half bubble back on the face to keep the balls from tinking the glass.

If that is not it, than look at the nails for any that are bent down more than 3 degrees and bend them up carefully. Sometime you will find where some nails have been bent down to block a pocket or a route for the balls.

    I hope this helps.

It makes sense. :-) My house is 80yrs old and the basement floor is FAR from being flat, especially near the walls.

I'll bust out the level tonight, I may need to put some spacers on the legs of the TV stand to get it the way it should be.

Thanks for all these replys !

Well I did as Arby said and used a level against the front glass. Everything is level if not slightly tilted back like Arby suggested. The balls just clank against the glass a bit on this model I guess.

Arby is getting behind the glass easy or do you have to take the whole machine apart?

(Ask Mark if you don't believe me.)
