Unhappy Pioneer Okinawa Island Skill/Odds Level Question

Hi. I'm a newbie to Pachislo, having just recently purchased what appears to be a pretty well reconditioned Pioneer "Okinawa Island". Everything is working well except I cannot figure out how to adjust the odds/skill level on this machine. I have followed all the posted guidelines but no matter what I do I cannot get the digital counter on the front of the machine to change (from its "3" setting). There is a white sticker that says "odds setting" (See attachment) about halfway up the inside lefthand side of the front door/panel. There are two thin sliver levers (See attachment), that are side by side, that I can press down, but it has no effect on the number "3" setting, although I can see two lights light up on the board (See attachment). (Note: I try to change the setting while in the "reset mode".) If anyone can help me out with this I'd really appreciate it. I have been able to adjust the volume, remove the coin bin, reset the machine, etc. without any problems. It's just the odds setting that has me stumped. Thanks.

Ah, thank you very much. We've really been enjoying it. And to me, part of owning something this cool is knowing how it works and how to really take care of it. That's mainly why I posted here; so I can know this machine better.

Did you look at the highlighted word "reset" in your above post? It takes you to a thread that might help you do the reset.

Also, take a look at this thread and remember to power down long enough:

Yes, I did; thanks. And, as I noted in my original post, I have not had any problems resetting the machine. But for some reason, adjusting/changing the odds/levels has not worked. Yet. ;-)

Now...as far as THIS link goes...it was something I saw in there - indirectly - that ultimately led me to figuring this out. (The part about the knob near the power switch being the one to adjust the odds/skill level.) When I first got this machine I read about two switches located near the power on/off toggle that were mainly used in the casinos in Japan to alert casino workers, etc. There was a mention of a third button, but it was unclear what that button actually did. Since this machine came with a sticker on the door labeled "Odds Setting", it never dawned on me to try that third button to try to adjust the odds level. But after reading the above-listed thread, I figured I had nothing to lose. And voila...IT WORKED. THAT was the solution. (See attachment, and how I now correctly placed the "Odds Setting" label where it belongs!)

Thanks everyone for your help. I appreciate it.

They put the odds setting label by the setting number, not where you actually changed the odds.

Yep. Apparently, that's exactly what they did. Good thing I was curious enough to try pushing that "unknown" button.

I got here too late to offer my suggestion, which wouldn't have worked anyway.

By the way, some machines have two different buttons that will change the odds; one on the power supply and one on the inside of the door somewhere by the LED number.

In one of your pics I see a black round thing below the LED number. It is possible that that is a button and will also allow you to change odds settings just like the one on the power supply.

The two little switches on the door are reset switches of sorts. Like for when you turn the key to the left to do a 'soft' reset.

Thanks for the input. The "black round thing" below the LED number is a light access thing. (I also thought it was another way to reset the odds level so I checked it out before finally finding the button on the power supply.)

Ahah ... so that explains the mysterious "so now what are these two silver things and what do THEY do?" question.

When those 2 awitches are both set one way they spit out the tokens and require a full reset after bonus round,
When set the other way you don't need to reset after bonus round.

He was talking about the door switches lucky, not the others on the power supply.
