Thunderbirds - Blank Display

I have access to 3 Thunderbirds machines that all have exactly the same problem. After shipping, the LCD display at the top of the machine is completely blank. The display was working perfectly before shipping.

Has anyone, vendor or otherwise, come across such a problem? Was it fixable?

The problem most likely is a loose wire or connection somewhere,

on some machines if you play around with the menu you can accidently disable the display.

a major reset might fix it also.

LCD screens usually just don't die.

I would go with luckydog on this one.

Re-seat any cables that feed too or from the LCD board, even if they look ok, there could be a slight fault on on of the connectors, and it has rattled loose just enough to make the difference. You may even need to reseat connectors that don't look as if they are anything to do with the LCD, i.e. CPU board etc... Remember to use anti-static precautions when messing with this stuff!

I use small blobs of Hot Glue to make the job a perminant fix once it's proved the cause.

Edit - Also check the ribbon cable that feeds the LCD itself, they can be very thin and are clamped in place, maybe that's worked loose during transit?

luckydog you were indeed correct on this one. There was a wire going to the LCD panel that had come loose. Same problem on all three machines.
