    Default Fuji Thunderbirds pachiko question.

I just received my 1st pachinko machine (Thunderbirds) so I really have no idea of what to expect. One observation is that there is a target in the 9:00 position just to the left of the "secret entrance" with the letters IR on it. It looks like something should happen if a ball goes through this elsewise I can't determine any useful purpose for it to exist. Does anyone know if this is supposed to register a ball for a payout or what it does? And speaking of payouts, this machine has 4 payout holes 2-left,2-right and man are they tight in letting any balls in. Is there a standard as to how many balls should pass a hole before 1 goes in? Also I have noticed two 3-position slide switches in the back of the machine. They were set to center position...wonder what they do? In fact, any useful info about this machine (or how to get a users-manual in english!!!) would be wonderful. Thanks very much.

Nice machine for your first one. About the target at 9:00, the easiest way to figure out if something should happen is to open the front glass and drop a ball through it. The IR stands for "International Rescue", the theme of your machine. There is no standard as to what to expect as far as balls going through a particular gate. If you feel they are a bit tight and stingy, you can always open up those nails a bit. It's the bending of the nails that adjusts the odds on pachinkos.

A users manual in English would be wonderful. They don't make one, but it would be wonderful.

First of all, thanks Tulsa and Arby for your quick response. Second, Tulsa, a Darth Tater pic...I love it!!! What I was hoping for is maybe someone else here actually owns the machine (or a similar build Fuji) and knows what the heck that particular roll through does. I'm kinda worried it should do something but may be faulty, when I drop balls through mine I get nothing.
I really enjoy working on electro-mechanical devices (have a few American pinballs) but gee whiz, these things are major complex. Good thing we have Arby and others to help. Last week I didn't know the difference between a dongle and a dangle! Thanks guys.

Oh, it is for the flippers, it stocks up to 4 flipper openings, those little flippers around the center hole. The computer decieds when they open.

Arby...My E.T. has the same little pocket. When you get a ball in it it lights an led for a flipper stock. Too bad the flippers are random!

Yes, that be true, but without stocking them up, you don't get any or very few.

Arby, you really are the king! By dropping a ball through the IR slot and waiting sure enough 1 flipper opening. Drop 2 through, wait, yep 2 openings. It would have taken me an ice-age to figure that one out! If you are ever in Tampa I owe you a beer! Take care and best wishes.

All right! Nothing like a new pachinko machine to perk up the ol' spirits. Now it is a bit of a trick to figure out where to put those tokens.
