    Default another jackpot problem

hi there its the prof here- ive got my jackpot machine here at last- it sorta works but has a few problems. First off, some of the buttons are stuck, that i can fix. Second, neither the belly lamp or the reel illumination lamp is working. My qusetion is can i simply replace these with bog standard flourescent tubes of the same length? or do i need specialist parts?

Cheers For any help, heres a wee pic of all three machines sitting waiting for tokens!

theres a certain flourescent bulb that you will need to replace it with but its most likely not a ''specialty'' part and can probably be found at a local home improvement store.

    Hi,

I had my Jack Pot for three weeks before I knew it had a belly lamp.

I took the broken one to a local electric shop and they had an exact match, BQ probably do them too. Only a couple of quid.

yeah i know just an 8w flourescent lamp im away out to get one- small peice of advice though dotster- theres a 4in fan cooler at the back of the machine- make sure its clean and working if it doesnt work this machine heats up some
the buttons will be an easy enough fix- im just gonna strip them out, clean them up and put them back in. Itll be fun playing this one, its a single bet machine compared to my zero which is max bet.
am i right on the 8w by the way? ((panic lol))

Thanks for the tip about the fan, I did at one point disconnect it, I don't know about yours, but mines quite loud, but I reconnected it again for the very reason you said.

I'll check the 8w when I get home this evening, but I suspect that it may be to late by then ;-).

have you noticed that jackpot has a bit of a handy soft reset? simply a matter of opening and closing the door no looking for reset buttons!
its also reassssonably quiet by setting the slide switch at the speaker to its lowest setting. And it pays out like nothing on earth on setting 6

Yes, it does a quick reset, but not strictly because you opened the door.

If you turn the key to the right, it opens the door, and if you turn it to the left it resets the machine if needed.

To see this in action, if you open the door and turn the key to the right, you will see two latches move, one at the top and one at the bottom, this unlocks the door.

Now if you turn the key to the left, you will see one latch in the middle move downwards, as it does, it passes through an optic sensor and breaks a beam, its this that does the reset.

Now regarding volume, what I've done is disconnect the back speaker by unplugging it from the PCB that the volume switch is connected to. Just trace the cable from the speaker back to the board and unplug it. You can unplug the front speaker in the same way and leave just the back one on, now that is really quiet.......BUT..... a question to the electricians out there, could this cause any long term problems?
