    Default converter trouble

hi there prof here- in the middle of an intense bonus game my machine just died- no power at the psu. not a problem with the machine, fault is obviously the ac-ac converter (is still red hot after powered down 45minutes)
This is not really concerning me, but just to check- anyone else using converters out there- whats the watts rating?

    Prof...

The converter (transformer) in your machine should be warm to the touch. If it is red hot and you are not able to put your hand on it, I would change it out. These pachi are usually sent with a 5 amp transformer which is just marginal for proper operation. If you replace it, I would suggest a 6 or 8 amp. You then should have the power to play through a big bonus round without problems. Hope this helps.....

I think his problem is the converter that changes his 220 to 110 and hes using one way to small IE 100 watt used for shavers and small things , he need a 500 or 1000 to be safe as I used these and all others did also if stationed overseas like Germany Etc, Thers nothing wrong with the 110 to 24 vt or the reg 5 or 6 amp transformer in the machine ,, So much for my 2 cents worth
These are my opinions and no body elses and you can't have them

Prof… I have not checked the actual current of any of my Pachislos. But if the dealers that sell them state they use a 6 amp transformer in the ones that need to have a transformer added that would equal 144 watts knowing the secondary is 24 volts.

The secondary watts and the primary watts is always the same on a transformer. So my reasoning says a power converter of say 150 watts should run it ok.

I was looking at the link David R. provided showing the 120volt to 100 volt converters and was wondering if it might not be a good idea to get one to run all my Pachislos. The Pachislos are rated at 100 volts and it might be easier on them if they were powered at the correct voltage. Having six Pachislos the 2000 watt converter would handle them all just fine and the cost of $88.88 might be a good investment.

If anyone else has any ideas on this please let me know.

    Pachitom,

I can't remember the thread, but I bought a "wattsup" watt meter last year and ran a few tests then sold the meter to someone here (can't remember who). Anyways, I think the final conclusion was 5+ machines might be cause to run a larger circuit.

Honestly though, I can't remember the specs. Maybe a search for wattsup might find it again.
