    Cool Scooter Slotter!

The thought has crossed my mind too. http://powersports.honda.com/scooters/

The cheapest one is about $2000 and they go up to $8500!!!!

The GEM however only goes 25 mph. http://www.gemcar.com/

What's impressive to me about the scooters is how stable and easy to ride they are. I was undecided on getting one for my daughter until I rode one. Wow, are they fun and easy to ride! All plastic panels, automatic transmission, brakes that apply both front and back at the same time. Very dependable and inexpensive to operate. I was sold. BTW, I paid $1640 plus TTL. Got a decent deal on the 2005 as the 2006 models will be out in a few months.

    David, that Gem is cool!

I have a company car and as such my company is painfully aware of rising fuel costs. Here is an excerpt from an email I received moments ago.

As we all are well aware the cost of gasoline is at all time highs in our country. As a point of interest the following are current fuel prices around the World; from a high in the Netherlands of $6.46 per gallon to a low of .12 cents per gallon in Venezuela a (36) country average is $3.79 per gallon worldwide; some samples:

    Place Price per Gallon

    Netherlands-Amsterdam $6.46

    Norway-Oslo 6.27

    Italy-Milan 5.96

    United Kingdom-London 5.79

    Ireland-Dublin 4.78

    Spain-Madrid 4.55

    Brazil-Brasilia 3.12

    Cuba-Havana 3.03

    Lebanon-Beirut 2.63

    Puerto Rico-San Juan 1.74

    Saudi Arabia-Riyadh 0.91

    Kuwait-Kuwait 0.78

    Egypt-Cairo 0.65

    Nigeria-Lagos 0.38

    Venezuela-Caracas 0.12

Interesting that in the US prices now vary from $2.79 to $6.00 (Atlanta, Georgia today)

Just paid 3.28 today for regular unleaded in the bay area , California...sob....30 gallon tank, and the beast gets like 12 miles per gallon. Ford f-350 super duty with a 7.8 liter v10.At these rates, since I average 200 miles per day, im gonna be paying over a grand a month on gas just to do my job. I wish the oil execs could be jailed like the Electric company execs were for gouging...

It is a great mystery to me why gas prices are allowed to rise at the mere mention of bad news. I understand that higher costs must be passed on to the consumer, but for darn sake...wait until you have had to pay the higher cost before passing it on to ME!!!!!

Hello, 3.19 here in Lovely Cleveland, Ohio. I hope to pick up a nice bike this weekend. My store is near enough and I could use the excercise anyway. Mike : )

I work in a refinery(boo-hisss) and there are a few facts that may ease your minds or at least clear up a few things. The EPA regulates the porduction of gasoline. All gas is made the same no matter who makes it. Gas is sold as a comodity. It is pumped across the country in pipelines. The gas I make in Houston is sold on the east coast. All the refineries pump into the same pipelines so it is all mixed. The wholesale price is actually on a downward trend. The controlling factor on the price you pay is supply and demand. The retailers set the price you pay and there really is no reason for the increase in price. No it may be hard for the gas to get to the stations from the distribution centers but there is no real shortage. resently the EPA relaxed some of the restrictions placed on the production of gas such as how much sulfur is in it so the the refineries can step up production and fill the void of the refineries that are shut down due to the storm. One last thing, I do not get a discount on gas, ish I did but I have to pay the scalped prices just like everyone else. There is light at the end of the tunnel, it's just not very bright right now.

Oh, it goes about 39 mph for me on a level road. Weight makes a difference. My 100 pound daughter will get it up over 40, I'm sure. Plenty fast enough for tooling around town.

At these prices is anyone even buying Premium? Maybe the refineries should concentrate on producing the Regular unleaded and Diesel fuel to keep supplies steady.

Musky, many thanks for your post. If anyone wants to complain about gas prices, blame the ones who cause the rise, the environmentalnazis!

They won't allow the building of any new refineries, no drilling for our own oil anywhere.

In fact, the day the President relaxed the EPA regulations (temporarily), none other than a United States Senator from the state of Florida warned you, me, the citizens of the United States, that he (and his party) would block any attempt for a bid to drill for oil in the Gulf of Mexico, even to relieve our dependance from foriegn oil!

Who was the U.S. Senator speaking for his party? Bill Nelson, Democrat from FL!

Temporarily, go to youtube.com and search for BudgeRahe for videos. Until I get the links set up in the museum
