    Default Buzzing noise during powerup?

    Hello!

My Yellow Cab when I turn it on, makes a buzzing sound, kind of medium pitched, which lasts approx. 10 seconds, then is quiet.

Is this something I should be concerned about?

    Thanks!

I have spent a fair bit of time with an electrical engineer going over the machines I have before I sell any. He has noticed that there is an initial draw of power which on some designs is quite significant. If the machine is underpowered on the transformer it tries several times to start so gives a clicking sound. This lasts about 10 seconds, he felt it wasn't a problem but didn't sound too good so I ended up with a more powerful transformer, more for the start up than the overall game needs. Not really a full reply to your question but it might be linked if it is only at switch on.

    Thanks!

now that you mention it, it does remind me of the sound of a transformer...kind of like the ones that we had as kids powering the electric train around the track...remember those? those little black boxes?

and, on the back of machine is a little transformer, just like that....

I'm wondering, is it better to keep machine on all the time, rather than turn it off after I play it till the next time?

Well, thanks for the great forums! I love you guys!

zone: My Gladiator (the only modern one I have) has a buzzing sound during it's initial startup. When I plug it in all the lights come on as a kind of test for about 10 sec. During this time I hear a mild buzzing sound. Mine is most definately coming out of the speakers, though. If I turn it up, the sound is louder (just like a pachislo 'squeal' on all of my machines); if I turn the volume to the lowest, it's not nearly as bad. At first I thought it was the transformer buzzing, but I think it's just some kind of interference of everything being on at once to the sound system.

It is vibrating the top hopper to loosen any balls so they roll freely. that machine maker does that on allot of their models. If you empty the ball out then power up it will keep doing that till it errors out.

it does have a vibration to it, too, when it does that, I hope that's it and not some electric short or something....

Well, what do you think, is it better to leave on all the time? I mean, barring a thunderstorm with lightning danger (I always turn off all electric during those, we have some scary ones here in tornado alley....)

I've been turning it off every night. Maybe I should just leave it on?

    hmmm that presents a conundrum...

by "not in use", does this include gazing at my lovelys during the screenshow?

arby, how many jackpots are there? I have seen boxing, dragon, texas shootout, binkini dance , and lingerie show....i think I am missing not seeing several, I can't get the wheels to line up!! Sometimes the fish and money bag come out.

I think i need medical attention.
