Default Ball Overflow Linkage Part for Nishijin B

    Hello all,

My 1975 Nishijin B is missing the part pictured below. It is the wire linkage that prevents balls from being put into play when there is an overflow of balls in the receiving tray from too many jackpots. Seems to be a common part missing from these machines.

Does anyone know where I can source this part? Or would it be possible to create a working replacement from some stiff wire? I can see how it attaches to the plastic lever at left, though I'm not exactly sure how or to what it attaches inside of the machine (at right) to make it work.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

    Best,
    Kizzy

Wish I could offer more help, but looking at my model B machines, the brown piece the wire goes in to is sealed with what appears to be a rivet and possibly glue, so it's hard to say exactly how it attaches.

Keep trying eBay for "pachinko machine parts" or locally for a "parts" machine.

Thanks Sparky. On my machine, there is an opening in the brown plastic housing where the wire linkage part would enter. It appears one would need to remove that housing in order to attach the part, though it's not clear to me exactly how it would connect or operate. I don't see anything like a rivet in there, or anything that is glued, though there is what looks like a screw or bolt mounted vertically with some similar gauge wire wrapped around it. As suggested I'll look at eBay and see what comes up as perhaps being able to see the entire part removed from the machine will give me some clues. From what I've read this part is not strictly needed, but it would be nice to complete my machine.

I do not believe there is a way to replace the wire, original. The housing is made up of three sections and glued together. The section of housing that has the wire is attached to a spring loaded door/flap. It's secured to the door with a pin and e-clip, the pin runs through the coiled up wire at one end. The bottom of the door is also secured to the housing with a pin and e-clip, that pin runs through a spring. All of this can be taken apart and a new wire put on, but the problem is putting it back together and getting the spring back on the pin that holds the door, so the door is spring loaded and stays closed.

This would be easy to do if that section of housing wasn't glued on. All of this would have been done before the sections of the housings were glued together, to make one housing. I don't see any way to remove the section without breaking it off.

So, unless you come up with another way to secure a new wire to the existing spring loaded door, you need to find a complete housing with the wire, to have the machine to be original.

I should have posted a picture or two, maybe this will help. First picture is where the wire goes in to the part that you probably won't be able to open. In picture 2 I circled in red the rivets and like Wayne-Ooo said, it's glued solid.

Keep looking on e-Bay or other online market places for either the entire part or depending how many other parts you may need, a "parts machine" for sale might work as well.

Sparky and Wayne, I really appreciate your help. I'm inclined to leave it as is, as everything else on my machine is functioning fine and I don't think it's worth the trouble. Curious though, did some of these machines originally ship without this wire installed? If my machine did come with it originally, then I wonder how it got removed at some point in the past without breaking anything. All of the plastics on my housing look intact with no signs that it was ever taken apart. I'm going to take a closer look when I get home later and see if perhaps a glue bond or some small part of the housing was broken at some point, but to my knowledge it was never disassembled.
