Sankyo Total Eclipse Pachislo volume issues

Hello friends, I have acquired a new project. A more Modern "Sankyo Total Eclipse" pachislot. Everything appears to work fine except the volume. I know at least the bottom speakers work because there are audible warnings for error codes. Just no sounds when playing machine. I adjusted the volume and spinner volume thing to get the level up to 6, but to no avail. also there are Potentiometer that came with machine. Not sure if 3rd party. but turning them makes no difference.

try putting a dead short between one pot and see if that gets one speaker working?

Forgive me, but what is a dead short. It still wouldnt make sense that alarms are audible, just not sounds secondary to game function?

Link the 2 wires together on each pot. wouldn't surprise me if alarm is only through one speaker.
Do the pots effect the volume of the alarm?
