Default Half scale handmade Smart Ball

While not an arrange ball, smart ball is a close relative of arrange ball; closer to arrange ball than pachinko so I figured I’d post this here, I saw there’s a former metal worker in Japan who now makes a living making these smaller scale replica Showa era wood Smart Ball machines on Yahoo auctions so bought one! It’s kinda like a bingo pinball. I would say it’s a toy; but the quality is way higher than any toy Smart Ball!

This model requires 5 in a row vs the typical 4 so a bit harder; but it’s a lot of fun! Multiple ways to score or make “house rules” and can see who can come up with the highest score; or award prizes, money ect…,

You can lock the ball release from the rear so the player on the front can’t release the balls; if it were to be used a a festival/fair setting.

It’s pretty realistic with adjustable spring strength; recoil spring on the playfield, and the glass marbles make cool “pinging” sounds as it gently bounces around on the playfield. I’m definitely impressed with the craftsmanship! It was the fraction of the price of a real Smart Ball but those are too big anyway and too expensive to ship. It’s a lot of fun to play too!

Does anyone have a REAL Smart Ball around here?

I think one or two members have had smart balls, but I don't remember them getting restored..

I kinda want a full size original one now! Just don’t want to pay that shipping bill… lol

There’s an older basic one; rocket theme for 70,000 yen but shipping would be more than that I bet! Getting into pinball price territory probably! Needs restored too.
