    Default Single shot project

I was given this single shot several months ago. Before I commit to taking it on I’d like our experts to take a look and let me know if anything is missing. If all is good I’ll start on it after I finish my Apollo 11 machine. Progress on that one has slowed due to work travel and COVID. Let me know if anything is missing.

Looks very good with just a little wood work on the front of the machine.

Am I missing anything from the mechanism in the back?

No problems. I just wanted to ask before I commit to the project.

Since no one has given me a reason to abandon this one I'm going to take it on as my next project. I'll go through it and do the clean and polish thing as well as build a cabinet and replace the playfield. I've decided to do a 60's Woodstock theme to include music and culture from that era. For a background I'm leaning toward a tie dye picture or a sheet of music. Once I commit to the background I may add Woodstock festival pictures, an itinerary of the bands, picture of a Volkswagen van, peace sign and a few pot leaves for good measure. It's too early to tell, but that's my current thoughts. What do you think?

I like that idea. I have a Woodstock photo hanging in my living room. If you need ideas for a standing frame let me know I have the dimensions to one a carpenter built for me.

I decided to go with a tie dye back ground and purchased a few different sheets of stickers. I also have some cool Woodstock type pictures of band members and a hippie VW van that I plan to use. I started to disassemble the back of the machine. It’s filthy and several plastic pieces are cracked. Progress is slow.

I finished disassembling the game and have started the cleaning and painting phase. There is more rust than I expected and a few of the plastic pieces are cracked or broken. I soaked the metal parts to remove the rust and applied paint to protect them. I still have more to do. For a break from painting I started gluing the debonded wood on the front panel. Most of the front and backside plies are loose. More to come.

It’s all worth it in the end! Will probably be the last time you want to restore a pachinko machine that’s how I felt after the second. I’m doing one more for my dad this weekend. I’ll start a thread somewhere when I start

I thought I was done after my first one, but the attraction for me is customizing the playfield. This is my Apollo 11.

That one must have been in rough shape. I just finished mine this morning.

Before Woodstock was the 1967 Monterey International Pop Festival aka "Monterey Pop" here's the whole over Two Hour Musical Documentary.

I was in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Ten years old and I saw the news about what was happening in California . Some called it the Hippy Music takeover of Monterey .

Then I made a silent wish that I could be there . Be careful what you wish for .

I been happy here since 1983

Farout! I now see where Roberts and the gang got their inspiration for Woodstock from.

It was worse than originally thought, but it can be fixed.

I found another delaminated spot when I started sanding.
