Default Need verification that a piece is broken/missing

Hi, first time Pachinko owner. I picked up a Nashijin type A machine for $20 at yard sale a few days ago on pure nostalgia. Solving one problem at a time while I wait on a delivery of 500 shiny new balls...so I am working with only a handful and I know that can also affect the overall operation of the machine. After cleaning (best I can without a total tear down), and releasing all jammed balls from various places, the most obvious problem I see is that the ball loader/shooter is not functioning properly.

    1. The shooter, if you manually place a ball on it, works great.
    2. The lifter/loader, with the door open and the pin lifted for the empty supply/flag will load the balls and spit it out the hole (as though it was spitting onto the shooting lane), but once the door is closed, and you flip the handle the next ball doesn't load.
---I think the problem is that there is perhaps a little plastic protrusion (pin?) that has broken off and is missing from the corner of the arm. From what I can tell, that should swing another plastic plate that would allow it to spit the ball out thus loading the next ball.

    I have 2 related questions:
    1. Is there indeed a piece missing from the bottom corner (below metal bracket)? If so, can someone share a picture from a few angles of what it should look like so that I can try to fabricate and repair it? Extra credit if you can provide me with some rough measurements.

    2. What is this wire for? It seems that when it is over the pin, not much movement happens, and when it is not- that the part that loads the ball are able to move and function. Is this a manual lock out that also leaves the balls to flow through? It seems to be connected to some type of scale/release that leads to the receiver tray from the overflow?

TIA for ant advice or input. I have looked up many helpful videos, animations, photos and past threads on here that have been so helpful in just the three days I have had this machine. Still have a lot to learn!

You do have a broken piece. I posted a picture of what it should look like.

Also a picture of how the wire should be.
It to block the shooter lever from working if balls were to back up in the lower tray. Which would be a lot of balls, but the excess balls would raise the lever and block the plastic lever from going completely back, thus rendering the shooter lever not to work.

I can 3d print one of those arms for you. I've already done other components of the shooting module, this is just one to add.
Can you show a better picture of the full piece including the counterweight so I can find a good machine in my stash that I can copy the part from. I'm finding there are like 4 generations of model A's when it comes to shooter module designs.

For Reference, this is what I started with, I'm sure not the worst you've seen, but in my opinion, it was pretty rough but appears to be mostly complete. Definitely sat with very rusty balls in the machine, and they were everywhere (I'd say tipped every which way based on the strange places they were stuck-even found one between the lightbulb and cover on the empty light)....The feeding tray release was stuck about half shut, and found the reason be be a mud dauber nest inside the plastic housing, the whole machine has plenty of rust, spider webs, dust and appears that the wood has some water damage, mostly the after-market bottom/legs from what I can tell, so that may be on the replacement list too down the road. I first want to get it playable, to be sure it doesn't have any fatal flaws that are yet unseen, then worry about the lights and more of the cosmetic issues.

Also, are there any known hacks or sources for a perfectly sized rectangular catch container without spending $25 on one?

Those pics are perfect and there is nothing special about the part. I should be able to recreate that with no problem.

I am working on a part for someone else as well, but I'll get you in the queue

I'm already thinking about the counterweight and how to approach it. Interested in trying to drill out the rivets and remove the weights from the broken one?

SibSr do you mean in order to add the weights to the new piece once I have it? I think we could handle
That. Then maybe 2 part epoxy to attach to new piece? Or what do you have in mind?

What will I owe you for the part?

Yes, to transfer to the new part. I'll just make holes in the part. Pop rivets might work, epoxy could work.

Thank you, do you have an approx cost?

Husband says no problem on the drilling and pop riveting so we will plan to do that to attach the weight to new piece.

No cost other than a few dollars for shipping, maybe $5

I'm not satisfied with the situation where people that need one part like yourself are left with few options other than buying a second machine. Which then becomes a different disabled machine (that you do what with?) due to removing a key part. This spurs me to spend time making parts to fill that need and prevent the parts machine issue.. Many parts are made because I need one, but I do a lot for others "on demand" to help with just your kind of situation.

Plastic costs are miniscule on a part that size, and my time is essentially free as a retiree doing something I enjoy.
I think if I read the legal agreement on the free software I'm using, I'm not really allowed to make money with it

Thank you, I really do appreciate it! Just let me know when and I can paypal, or venmo, or whatever!

As I said, I have no intention of buying another, as this was a purchase of whimsy, but I am quite attached to it already and will be thrilled to get it working!

I used my 3D printed part, in the source machine the original part was copied from, and it was shooting balls just fine.

Changed the way the weights are attached from 2 holes that need fasteners, to two posts that the weights slide over. Then the ends of the posts can be heated or flattened with a hot screwdriver and mushroomed to hold them on.

The final version is printing now, so if you PM me your address I'll get it going to you.
