Interesting, I see even seasoned snipers melt when faced with true temptation.

Now you're missing the big picture here. Regardless of your seasoning, sniping doesn't come into play when a reserve has been set, until it's been reached, it makes no difference if you bid early prior to a reserve being met. The object is now to get that reserve out of the way, then let the sniping begin!
