Default Protective Dust Covers For Pachinkos

Many years ago my mom had an idea to sew a dust cover that slides over the top of my pachinko to help protect it from the dust, cat fur and the suns UV rays from fading, it makes a huge difference on keeping it clean, especially with pets. Now her vision makes it very difficult to sew, so it's more challenging and frustrating for her to try.

I'd like to cover all my machines, I've searched the internet, but couldn't find anything except a plastic kind of tarp material made for slot machines which wouldn't fit my pachinkos. I've tried extra large heavy duty trash bags, but our cats like to lick / chew / eat plastic bags, so no go on that idea. Pillow cases are too small as well.

Does anybody know where to get something like this picture to protect our machines?

After considerable Amazon searching, i finally found an item that had useable dimensions. It's a tight fit side to side for vintages, but just as you think it doesn't fit, suddenly it fits. So this is what refurbished machines go into when not on display. Intended for under bed storage of clothes, it is lightweight. Has handles but they are that are not strong enough to pick it up with a Pachinko in it. Has the clear panel to see what is in it with 2 zippers. it is about 3 inches taller than needed, but its almost perfect for this purpose.

Oh and they are fairly inexpensive and come in multi-packs. I'll post the Amazon info shortly.

I suppose if you wanted more of a slip cover you could cut an end panel out

Thank you SibSr, I hadn't seen those yet. As much as I'd like to be able to see and display the beautiful designs on the front of these machines, I'm thinking I'd probably turn these around backwards to avoid sun damage (sliding glass door & skylight in this room let a lot of sun in). I have a pinball machine in this same room that the sun just wiped out the artwork on the sides, after replacing all the plastics on the playfield and the side art, I bought a cover off ebay to keep the sun off of it. So far so good, still look like new when I take the cover off to play it.

I like to use lawn/leaf size Hefty garbage bags for the machines I store in my closet.

Inexpensive, effective, and sure to block UV damage too! As for aesthetics; not the most appealing option.

Thanks lostoballs, I have them on my machines that are stored in a closed, spare room, but can't use them anywhere else because our cats are attracted to licking / chewing and trying to eat the plastic.

i was driving threw town today and drove past the local drycleaners.. they has a sign that said alterations.. ask them, if you brought them some light material could they make you a large pillow case..

seem pretty simple to me.. if i were in the market i would ask my daughter in law

Exactly my thoughts, also going to check at a fabric store to see if they know anybody who might be looking for a little side work sewing project.

Rates at drycleaners for sewing work can be high. The fabric store idea is probably cheaper.

I got some fleece once to make cozy's for my printers, but then the cat decided it was nice to sleep on so.....
