When did BMX first come out? The bike not the pachi.

Must have been late 60s early 70s?? I remember the beginning of On Any Sunday had kids on a BMX track..that movie came out in '71!!


I think the date on the pachi looks to be 56 so whats that make it, 1979??

Me I just made "Sleeper" bicycles didn't look like much but could move like grease lightning and could go on dirt for a bit . and mainly they didn't look remotely like a bmx bike.
