Default My newgin 90s Era machine died need help identifying a few things.

It's off my oldest machine one of the capacitors de soldered and leaked off that has been replaced however it looks like this small diode is also bad. I assume this is part of the circuit protection as it's on a connector and seems easy to replace without soldering. It looks like a diode but has no gray band to mark polarity. It has a large S or 5 then 3BG Z1056.

Is this a diode ? Or some type of fuse ?

Any help on fi ding a replacement would be amazing.

Thank you for that. This seems like an old component. I am guessing I'll have to go off the specs and find something more modern. Or get lucky and find someone with new old stock.

Well mouser just got back to me and said that z1056 diode is discontinued and there are no replacements that would work anyone have any ideas where I could source one from 1994 or anyone have a time machine I can borrow . Yahoo Japan maybe?

Looked up that diode and found it's used as a voltage surge suppressor. I would simply jumper it and always use a surge protector to power that machine to protect whatever they were worried about. The diode can blow even in a static overload so grounding might help too as the same safeguard as long as it doesn't interfere with the shooter knob operation. Its more like a fuse than a diode.
