    Default Vintage Sophia help

    Hello all,
Brand new to this site and discussion threads! I have a Sophia machine my Father bought while we were on Okinawa around 1967-68. It’s in pretty good shape and would like to make it operational as far as the lighting goes as the mechanical parts seem fine. I can attach additional pictures but here are a few. It does have a “10V” indication at the top right in the back with places for wires, but not sure if it’s AC, DC, or something else. Any idea on actual date? I am missing the collection bin on the front for the winnings that hopefully someone can help guide me on. 4B1920C7-0E19-4D53-ACFC-1D826D44C9E2.jpg4A296567-2CF9-4824-80A9-B9066085A66B.jpg

    Welcome!

Additional pictures of the front & back would be helpful, front looks to be in decent shape. As far as the age of the machine, check out these links:

100_2709 (2).JPG Restored mine last year and used a 12v adapter with a two wire splice/connector that came with it. They're around 4 bucks on Amazon/ebay. Then connected it direct to the terminals in back. It's a late 68-9.

    Hello
    Nice vintage…
You are missing the front ball tray.. but it’s not essential for the machine to work
maybe someone here has one to sell
I have a box of parts I’ll dig out and take a look

I'm going to say it's DC as all of mine are being powered by a 9V DC battery and are working fine.

Thank you for that info! I will check it out. I have some of the original balls somewhere, still looking and will run some through when I locate them.

Back in the day, they were powered by 8VAC. Like it's been said, 9VDC works fine.
