Default Kyoraku early 80's Auto Shooter Loader Loading Multiple Balls

    Hello-

Working on this Kyoraku machine. Looks to be a first generation (early 80's) with the auto shooting mechanism. Cleaned it up and got it working pretty well, but seems to load more than one ball at a time. So with the multiple balls going up the ramp, they don't make it to the playing field, and end up in the lower tray, but will do it 10 or more times. I usually need to turn the shooter to full throttle to blow the balls out. Just wondering if the load mechanism is missing some pieces? Can't find any photos of the mechanism, so I don't know if it's all there or not. Maybe the multiple balls loading is a flaw in the design? I added three pachinko balls to the load mechanism to help with the oscillation of the mechanism. Seems to help, but doesn't solve the problem.

Some Photos (Front - of course):

The machine has a boxing theme and the center attraction has a solenoid that moves the two boxers and when the center attraction is activated, the moving boxers allow balls to enter it easily with lots of payout.

The track cover is missing. That's a piece of cardboard from a 12-pack of beer and a large sharpie marker. It works.

It is almost certainly not a flaw in the system, look on the front door side, that may be where the balls are not being let in one at a time.

Here's a video of the machine loading an extra ball. You can see in the reflection the handle being pulled 4 times, but the loader loads 5 balls (on the 4th shot):

In this video on Youtube, you can see at approximately 1:55 into it, multiple balls going up the ramp. I don't see a ball go back down the ramp on the previous shot, so more than one ball was loaded.

The problem is you aren’t using the shooter properly; you are playing it as if it were a vintage with a flipper.

You just need to twist and hold the shooter in place; not keep jerking it back and forth… This is a rapid fire machine and is designed to be played as such!

Is this your first modern machine? Looks like it’s in good shape! It’s an early hanemono type.

Also, if you do want to just shoot one ball at a time for some reason like a vintage; most moderns have a small button to depress somewhere around the shooter which stops the shooter; so you just continue to hold the shooter in place and depress and release the button each time to shoot balls slowly one at a time; you don’t move the shooter left/right like that or you will cause your problem.

Yup, first modern machine. I'm working in California for the next six months, and thought it would be interesting project to clean up (and see how it works) and play until I need to leave (thought if it was fun, I might have it shipped home).

The rapid fire seems boring (no control like the flipper style). I don't like multiple balls hitting other balls out of the way (especially when a ball hits another ball about to go into a pocket). I like to have the balls fire a little slower, which this machine can't control (just how much power the shot uses). The button in the center of the shooter trigger to stop the firing motor is awkward to use (in my opinion).

Too bad that this turned out to be a bust for me. Probably get rid of sooner than later.

I figured… I’d buy it if you were closer! Actually there’s more control of where the balls go with a properly functioning automatic shooter, unless yours is shooting erratically. It takes practice! But to each their own; stick to the vintages or moderns with a flipper if you don’t like it.

The newer models have the stop button in more ergonomically comfortable, easy to use placed positions.

    Newer model with a flipper:

I like all my pachinkos vintage or modern; arrange balls even more…each has their pros and cons!

I definitely prefer moderns though! Early modern arrange ball with a flipper is the best of both worlds!
