It’s a model A recycler, the best “regular” type 70s Nishijin, in my opinion, besides the Powerflash and a few other rare models that use solenoids. Since it reuses wasted balls unlike a model B or C. Doesn’t need as many balls to play.

There’s a sticky posted in this section on how to restore one; depends on what your goals are; either just clean it up to be playable or full restoration and playfield replacement.

It’s my favorite model to restore, I’ve done 2 custom playfields and one factory style artwork. . (Same “sunrise” playfield artwork as yours. )

Once you’ve got one; another won’t be far behind though… They are addictive!

That’s a nice home use model A
mushroom cloud on the top and a little staining on the bottom but heck 50 years old
a thunderbird A in very good condition is not a common machine
