Those old CRT screens fail with alarming frequency… personally I’d only buy a hanemono, kenrimono, or arepachi from that era, or a digipachi that only uses LEDs.

Probably a reason they didn’t take pictures of it plugged in…

Best to spend a bit more on something newer; or less on something without a screen!

Almost positive that's an LCD screen, ask the seller for pics of it powered up if you are interested.

Sankyo definitely used CRTs on cells in this frame, at least they did on this 1995 model; there’s a sticky about it!

The one posted on eBay is a 1999, so maybe it might be LCD? It’s possible perhaps. That said, Sankyo is known for component failures on the board that powers their early LCD screens. 2 of my Lumina had component failures that cause “dead” screens. Pick your poison… either way it’s a ticking time bomb Buyer beware!

I have a Sankyo CRT and it's so deep it actually protrudes out the front of the playfield, it's perfectly rectangular. Just by the images of the the front
you can see that this screen is recessed perhaps 1.5". Take a look what the back case of a Sankyo CRT looks like. CRT.jpg BTW , it's still working. Also, I buy and repair any Luminas with screen issues.

I already sold them off cheap to somebody who replaced the bad capacitor(s)? I’ve sold off my whole Lumina cell collection except for my favorite 4 of them, ironically the one that spent days underwater in a flood (Star Wars) still works fine after cleaning up all the boards! (Knock on wood) I took the funds raised by Lumina my cell sell off to purchase newer cells; that are faster/easier to swap cells and better/bigger screens! (Sankyo Fortune and Evol) cells. Those aren’t nearly 2 decades old so should be awhile before they start having age degraded components.

The point I was trying to make to the OP is probably not the best choice for a beginner just starting a collection since they are more problem prone than average units. Unless you want to repair electronics for fun. (Not my thing, vintages are fine for me!)
