I have a version of this model. I'd like to fix my medal-return mechanism and wondered what you had to do. Does the spinner the string connects to have a spring or something? mine just spins freely. Thanks for any advice.

I took it completely apart and cleaned it, whitened it, touched up the paint and made a new sticker. Also, I highlighted the rolling stone logo, next to the pulley wheel. The weight was still inside the feature, so it was just a matter of putting a new string on.

It's working pretty good now. Video of it working. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/aSo2ectMtVc

I think there's just a weight that goes at the end of the string??

I haven’t risked removing the yellow (sled?) from the playfield yet. Where is the weight, inside the sled somewhere? Thanks for the quick response everyone!

Once you get the Rolling Stone feature removed from the playfield. You will see, on the back, that the yellow part is connected to the white part with several screws.

Inside the yellow part should be a weight. It is connected to the star with a string and the string goes over the spinner wheel.

Really it's more of a thread, than a string. I used carpet thread and if I remember correctly, if your machine is set for it dump the ball in the top hole, the thread is 9 inches long once you get it tied at both ends. (knot to knot).

If your machine is set for it to dump in the bottom hole, as mine is, the thread is 13 inches long, from knot to knot. You have to get the thread the correct length, or it won't work properly.

Once I tied the thread on, I put a drop of Super Glue on the knot, to help secure the knot.

I'm going by memory on those thread lengths and I'm pretty sure they are correct, but I may be wrong.

DISREGARD the 13 inches, THAT CAN'T BE RIGHT!

I now think it was 9 inches for either of the holes.
