Default Nishijin Rolling Stone Model B

My next project is going to be this Rolling Stone machine.

I have always thought that this "rolling stone" feature is pretty unique, as far as features go with vintage Pachinko machines.

I really haven't decided what to do with it yet, as far as the theme of the machine. I'm sure it will be something custom, but I can't decide what.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and considered.

    Thanks

If we’re mine I’d do the obvious; Rolling Stones logo!

The band at 19 on front
color change lights always on in the middle
and jackpots lights fire down the side tube
Uk flag spinners would top it off

Would also be pretty funny if you photoshopped a “picture of your smiling face on the cover of the Rolling Stone..”

    Thanks for the replies.

After thinking about it, I am now thinking the machine doesn't need a theme.

I believe that the Rolling Stone feature, in and of itself, is the theme.

Yes, it does share the same name as the rock group, but the feature has nothing, visually, to do with the Rolling Stones. I guess visually, it reminds me of Pac-Man, but really doesn't look like Pac-Man and rolling stone logo on the feature doesn't go with Pac-Man.

So, that is why I'm thinking that the Rolling Stone feature, by itself, should be the theme. Just some type of a abstract background and let the feature be the theme of the machine. Kind of like original, but more colorful.

I don't know, what do you think?

In that case, if original style art and colorful is the goal, my favorite original Nishijin background with maximum colors is 1979 “Sunrise” while not “period correct” (it’s was made for a model C, not B) it’s probably the most colorful one they made. It’s made perfectly to line up nicely with the ball tracks and the center feature in the “sun”.

Ii restored a model C with it.

Maybe a balloon or planet theme or something astrological to utilize the rolling stone feature.

I worked on the rolling stone feature. It did not work, due to a broken/missing string.

It was yellowed and needed whitened, paint needed touched up and a new sticker needed to be made for the pulley wheel.

I took it completely apart and cleaned it, whitened it, touched up the paint and made a new sticker. Also, I highlighted the rolling stone logo, next to the pulley wheel. The weight was still inside the feature, so it was just a matter of putting a new string on.

It's working pretty good now. Video of it working. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/aSo2ectMtVc

I would have though a theme that better suits the feature. A lift in a high rise. Or a water flume. Hope you get the string replaced

Colorful abstracts are just not for me. Though they look good, they just don't hold my interest.

So, I decided to go with a Rolling Stone themed machine. But, probably not the Rolling Stone theme you might think of.

I decided to go with the very first Rolling Stone, as a theme.

I can also see some, custom made, rolling stone spinners in the future.
