Default Anyone buy or build a good token counter/dispenser

Anyone ever bought/made a machine for counting tokens? Would love to be able to dispense 100 tokens to friends and then count up their winnings. Professional coin counters seem to start at $400 or so and cheap Amazon ones seem to only be for US coins. Wondering if there is a good DIY option.

Short of modifying a standard payout hopper with a simple pulse counter. Can't think of anything off hand. I brought and shipped a ¥1000 note token dispenser. But thats payout only and means I need Japanese notes to pay.
