Talking Stuey Lewis and the Rev-ewes

A new feature is coming to PachiTalk and it is free to all members!!

Now available here on PT you get a free bi-weekly (every two weeks) in depth (not really) song comparison review!!.....And if you act now I'll throw in a second review free!!

How does this new FREE service work?? Well how about I tell you!!

Find two versions of the same song (preferably by different people/bands) and post links to both versions (preferably YouTube links) in this thread!!

(Each member should only recommend one set of songs at a time, once I review them you can post a different set of two songs!!)

    It's just that simple!!

I know this thread is going to be Wildly popular, probably viewed by maybe up to five different people, so it may take some time to get to everyone's suggestions, so please be patient!!

And if my music reviews make me famous, I will try not to forget you all, although I probably will.. Sorry in advance!!

For Rev-ewe #1 Our song is MacArthur Park, which Wikipedia says there are 191 versions of, but our very own Drunkenclam has chosen these two..

    Richard Harris singing MacArthur Park

    And..

    Donna Summer singing MacArthur Park

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2YcU24Wsf0

    Here goes..

Well I've heard this song before, parts of it at least.. But this will be my first time listening to it all the way through that I know of!!

    Ok..Richard Harris version..

The feeling I get from the first 5 minutes is the feeling of a song playing during the credits of a late 60s or early 70s movie..Like when credits used to be at the beginning!! Then 2 minutes of weird rock..Then the very end feels so much like the end of movie credits of a 70s movie, but this time at the End of a movie!!

Over all, not bad!! I'd pay $6 for the 12" in VG- condition!!

    Ok..Donna Summer..
Starting kinda slow..Wait..1:50, OH YEAH!! Ooooh, at about 3:30 I can feel myself rollerskating!!!! Nice guitars starting at 5:10 niiiiiccceeeee!! 7:07 NICE!! Good finish!!

The size of my ABBA collection will show that I have a disco bias.. This version rocks pretty hard!! I'd pay $15 for the extended mix in VG+ condition!! I can even say if it got a RSD re-release on sparkly blue and clear I'd pay $24-$30 for it!!

The winner this time goes to Donna Summer!!

Feel free to comment or ask questions below!!

This has been, Stuey Lewis and his Sheep Views....No wait!!

And for me (Disco Sucks) Beggars Opera has the second best version . Trust me you have to listen to both all the way through to get the Mind Blowing Jams
