On the right side next to the coin hopper there are 4 large pins. Does something connect to them or are they for testing. The coin hopper does not operate. I get credits but no payout.

I'm pretty sure that's for the overflow box. When it fills and the tokens make contact with the pins it stops play till its emptied.
