Default Batman and Robin Model A

I picked up a "no name" model A, off of Facebook Marketplace for a few dollars. I like the model A's because of how they recycle the balls and decided to go with a custom Batman and Robin theme.

I pretty much have the frame and playfield done. Just need to get the rear pieces cleaned and put back on.

Here are some pictures of what's done.

for your custom playfield vinyls, do you map out the nail points or go by "touch" when re-nailing the board?

Amazing job as always Wayne-Ooo. I really like the way you changed the color of the ball tray, what did you use to accomplish that?

I use the old playfield to map out all of the holes. Pretty much using the technique in this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89973NuRwLU

To "poke" the holes I made a punch from a dart. Removed the fins and screwed a wooden handle to it. It's easy and comfortable to use.

There really isn't much to tell. Of course, everything gets disassembled and cleaned. I tape off the inside of the tray and anything else that doesn't get paint, in this case the brown colored trim on the end of the tray. Then it gets painted, several light coats. I've had pretty good luck using the Rustoleum Ultra Cover spray paint and primer in one. It bonds to plastic.

I did get all the rear pieces cleaned and put back on.

Also, got all the lights/wiring redone. It's all 12v LED's. 3 areas lite on payouts, the center feature, the upper left light and the jackpot window. For the hopper empty, I put a flashing red LED in the shooter tray window. There are also 2 flashing red LED's in the center feature that flash as long as the power is ON. A LED light strip was added at the top for a playfield light.

There is one thing different with this machine, than with my other Model A's. The jackpot only holds 10 balls, where as my others hold 14 balls.

Thanks, I did the playfield myself.

The gray checkered background is made of 4- 8 1/2"x11" pieces of photo paper, glued together.
I did get a little off in the center, while gluing them together, but knew it wouldn't be noticed once all the playfield pieces got put back on.

Well, I don't know what I was thinking.

I forgot to include the Bat Phone on the playfield.

So, today I added one to the playfield and decided it should have a flashing red light. I also put a flashing green light in each of the pay pockets.

Here is a short video of gameplay and the lights in action. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ZqzeXd2vN4w
