Default Vader Battle & Battle Counter Transformer Questions

    Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a Star Wars Vader Battle pachinko from a reputable USA based dealer. It is being delivered with an installed "door bell style" transformer. My first question is will the machine be safe with this type of transformer? I am used to the large JT Comatz transformers. I am guessing yes because it is from a reputabe dealer.

My second question is about the battle counter that I will be attaching to my Vader pachinko. I was considering getting power from a neighboring machine's Comatz transformer. Would the difference in hertz between the 24V USA transformer for the machine and the 24V Japan/Taiwan transformer cause any issues? I am guessing no as the machine only communicates with the battle counter with short pulses. Does this sound right?

Thanks in advance to everyone for your input.

Default Vader Battle & Battle Counter Transformer Questions

I’d say it needs a 5amp transformer minimum; 8 or 10 even better, it would run cooler.

I have this cell for my Sankyo Evol frame; those ball diverter “clickers” are going to drive you crazy! So loud and annoying even when the machine isn’t being played! That said; the 3D screen is pretty cool.. There’s lots of other good cells that fit this frame too!

As its an AC input, I’m guessing both transformers are just a generic copper windings around an iron core. So even though different transformers. They are plugged into the same mains, so the frequency output would be the same.
without seeing transformer. Its hard to know the spec of it. But as lotsofballs said. Current is key. I believe the machine spec is 250va which is a little over 10A . I have had numerous issues in the past with underated or even exact spec transformers causing machines to suddenly reset, or screens to stop working. But then again here in the UK I’m switching 240v not 110 so the transformer has to be bigger to start with. So I always go for a slightly bigger than spec and that gives me a little extra for the battle counters. These days. All my counters are run off their own transformer.
